Congressional Republicans on Monday released their official report on the Fast and Furious scandal which concluded that five top ATF officials and their supervisors in the Department of Justice, including the attorney general himself, are culpable in the scheme which placed 2,500 guns into the hands of Mexican drug cartels.

The choices made by the Congressional leadership of the specific news outlets that would break the story of the report, however, exclude the original reporters who first discovered, investigated, and then broke the story in December of 2010. These reporters also relentlessly badgered Congress into investigating the scandal when there was little desire to do so.
