Gunwalker Cover-Up--What did Barack Obama Know and When Did He Know It?

It can now be proved that the Obama White House and the Department of Justice, including the ATF, have engaged in an extensive cover-up of the Project Gunwalker scandal, also known as 'Operation Fast and Furious.' A series of internal emails and a memo disclosed by numerous sources yesterday, including CBS News and the Los Angeles Times, show beyond doubt that the Obama Administration is involved in an attempt to hide facts concerning the illegal scheme.
Thus, once again, it is time to zero-in on the issue that lies squarely at the center of what is perhaps the most serious scandal in the history of U.S. politics--what did Barack Obama know and when did he know it?
As with Watergate in 1974, it was not the break-in itself that brought down the Nixon White House. It was the cover-up. Nixon lied to the American people. Administration officials lied before Congress. The Attorney-General at the time perjured himself in sworn testimony before a Senate committee chaired by former Senator Sam Ervin, D-North Carolina.
Eric Holder, in sworn testimony before Congress, stated that he knew nothing about the illegal gunwalker operation, although former ATF Phoenix field division head Bill Newell testified that he informed the White House of the scheme in September of 2010. Further information indicates that Holder's claim, at the very least, is highly suspicious.

Good Deeds and Angels

My new devotional meditation is up at the ministry site.

This is a follow-up to my last post concerning an encounter I had in NYC with a very helpful gentleman who would not give me his name.

Today's post delves into this issue more fully. You can access it at Martin Christian Ministries.

Pelosi: Republicans Want to 'Destroy Government"

In an address at a Democratic fundraiser in San Francisco last month on August 21, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi stated that Republicans "want to destroy government." Further, she asked, "Do their children breathe air?"
The latter quip presumably was aimed at conservatives who have ratcheted up the heat on the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) over its heavy-handed regulations that are crippling the ability of American businesses to make a profit and to create jobs.
According to a report at CNS News Service, Pelosi stated.....

South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley Blasts Obama and the NLRB over Boeing Flap

Governor Nikki Haley, R-South Carolina, came out swinging today over the Obama Administration's handling of Boeing's relocation of one of its facilities from Washington State to South Carolina. Obama and the National Labor Relations Board took Boeing to court to try to prevent the transfer, which would bring 1000 new jobs to South Carolina--a state which has suffered from a unemployment rate higher than the national average.

The dispute is about labor unions. South Carolina is a right-to-work state. Washington State's union-friendly laws have increased Boeing's cost of doing business. Boeing wishes to address the problem by moving to a state where unions haven been prevented from wielding such unbridled power.

But in this Administration that is rife with union thugs who think they control America, such a move is tantamount to heresy. And they wish to prevent a company from moving wherever it wants within the U.S.--yet another blow to business from the Marxist minions of the Obama Administration.

Haley called Obama a 'coward' over this mess. She also stated that the NLRB is 'un-American.' She is 100% correct on both counts.

BRAVO! This is exactly the type of thing more, many more, of our elected representatives are going to have to do in response to the continued tyranny of an Administration raging out of control.

John Jacob H says that the Governor of North Carolina--Bev Perdue--may have committed an impeachable offense. I think she has! And now she faces a Republican legislature.

Way Up North provides the quote of the day from Ayn Rand.

Tam passes along info on a big gun sporting event in North Carolina. A class in tactical shooting will also be offered at the event.

From Alphecca: 'Obama the job killer.'

The error of comparing Gunwalker scandal to Watergate

As the gargantuan 'Gunwalker' scandal engulfing the Department of Justice and the ATF continues to grow deeper by the day, many comparisons have been made to the Watergate scandal of 1974, which brought down the Nixon Administration. While it is true that Gunwalker, or 'Operation Fast and Furious,' is also serious enough to bring down the Obama Administration, it is there that an accurate comparison ends. Gunwalker is much more sinister than Watergate, and thus, it is an error to make further comparisons.
The reason for this is clear. Watergate was about a botched break-in at the Democratic headquarters at the Watergate Hotel during the campaign of 1972--and the subsequent cover-up initiated by the Nixon White House. Gunwalker, by contrast, is about treason. In Operation Fast and Furious we are not dealing with an inconsequential group of second-rate burglars who broke into Republican headquarters to gather information that could be used in a campaign. We are dealing with a law enforcement agency of the Department of Justice that deliberately placed firearms in the hands of dangerous criminals in Mexico, who then used those guns to kill countless Americans and Mexicans.

Report: Holder plays shell game with ATF personnel

In response to ATF Director Kenneth Melson's transfer out of the agency to a demoted position in the Department of Justice, Alan Gottlieb of the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA) issued a statement saying that Attorney-General Eric Holder is playing a shell game with personnel and called on Holder to resign.
Gottlieb stated that by shifting Melson to a different position rather than firing him, Holder is playing a game of political charades. In an article that appeared in the Ammoland website, Gottlieb laid out in clear terms who is responsible for the Project Gunwalker fiasco (Operation Fast and Furious) and the ensuing coverup:

Newbius reports that Melson's replacement at the ATF is just another partisan hack.

The Suffolk County Liberty Report has a MUST-read on the systematic removal of all references to God in public discourse.

Melson ousted as ATF director

Gun Rights Examiner David Codrea reported this morning that ATF Acting Director Kenneth Melson has been ousted. A confidential source told Codrea that Melson had been called to Attorney-General Eric Holder's office last Friday and that Melson's office had been cleared out over the weekend.
Following the tip given to Codrea, blogger/citizen journalist Mike Vanderboegh contacted two major network reporters who immediately began to investigate the claims of the confidential source. This prompted CBS News to issue a news report stating that sources say Melson is out at ATF, later updated.
Very shortly afterwards, Fox News issued a major news story on Melson's ouster. The reason given for Melson's 'reassignment' is the growing fury over the Project Gunwalker Scandal (Operation Fast and Furious). Melson will remain on the payroll of the Justice Department in a demoted position.

Here we go again--federal judge blocks implementation of Alabama's new anti-illegal alien law

The state of Alabama passed one of the toughest anti-illegal alien laws in the country when voters decided it was time to crack down on the manner in which illegals use a multiplicity of holes in federal enforcement to skirt around the nation's immigration laws.

But now a federal judge has blocked the implementation of the law, which was scheduled to take effect on Thursday of this week.

Here we go again. What is it about the term 'illegal' do these judges not get?

On the positive side, the judge did not suggest in her ruling that the law is unconstitutional. She said she needed more time to make a determination and will issue a full ruling on September 28.

That means that she could still decide to allow the state to proceed with its implementation of the new law.

But, given the manner in which the courts and the Obama Administration have ignored the word 'illegal' in the term 'illegal aliens,' I would not hold my breath hoping for a sane ruling on a matter that is completely out of control in this country.

All guns and politics from the best gun rights and liberty bloggers on the Internet.

Kurt Hofmann examines an issue of vital importance to gun rights advocates--should gun and ammo manufacturers stay in states that continually pass laws that are against their interests and that of American gun owners? I say no. These companies should move out of the those states and set up operations in gun-friendly states. Punish them for their unconstitutional behavior by removing their jobs and taking the billions of dollars in tax revenues elsewhere. The gun industry is one of the few that is booming in this Obama Depression. Let the anti-gun states suffer for their attacks on freedom and the Constitution.

Mike Vanderboegh has an eye-opening exclusive report on the Gunwalker scandal, including info not previously reported. A MUST-read.

Way Up North posts some interesting info on jobs and the Texas-Alaska equation. Take out the two states, and the U.S. has lost multi-millions of jobs that boggle the mind. A most interesting read!

Tam comments on a rather asinine editorial in the Orlando Sentinel on Florida's new gun laws. Take a look.

Standing By says that the country is going nowhere fast, and no greater example of it exists than the Lefties who seem to be in a state of perpetual arousal over 'high speed rail.'

Around O-Town provides an updated version of the old story about the ant and the grasshopper, except this time it relates to Obama. Essential reading.

Days of our Trailers notes that Puerto Rico's VERY strict gun control laws have failed.

Alphecca points to an article claiming that 'global warming' is making people go nuts. I kid you not.

Pamela Geller says that the continual 'white-washing' of 9/11 has caused the mantra 'Never Forget' to morph into 'Forget It!' I'll tell you one thing, if the Muslim nutcases and their enablers on the American political Left expect us to 'forget it,' I can tell you what we will shove down their everlovin' throats. We will continue to beat the drum against the Islamist murders and the Marxist clowns who would just as soon everyone forget that horrible day in 2001.

Mike McCarville reports some rather strange goings on in Oklahoma with regard to 2 hush-hush fundraisers being held today for Texas Governor Rick Perry, who is running for the GOP nomination for President. Odd, to say the least.

Federal raid on Gibson Guitars--retaliatory harassment?

The Tennessee-based manufacturing company, Gibson Guitar, is one of the most well-known and reputable makers of musical instruments in the world. Gibson is known throughout the music industry as the maker of perhaps the best guitar on the planet. Singers and musicians in every imaginable musical genre rely on Gibson for quality, reliability, and a professional look and sound that very few are able to match.
However, there is another fact about Gibson that has placed the company in a state of disfavor with the current power elites in Washington.
As with many other major southern companies, Gibson is non-union. And in the current climate created by Obama, Holder, and others within the Executive Branch of government, non-union companies are viewed as the enemy. States that are 'right-to-work' are targeted.
On August 25, federal agents swooped into the Gibson Guitar factories in Memphis and Nashville like Nazi storm-troopers on a mission. The nature of the raid would lead an onlooker to think that the company had murdered hundreds and hid the bodies.
But the agents who poured into the factories, combing through every piece of 'evidence,' leaving no stone unturned, were not looking for dead bodies or illegal drug stashes. They were looking for 'proof' that Gibson had used wood from 'protected forests'--not in the U.S. but in other countries around the world.
Guitars were seized as evidence. Pallets of wood were confiscated. Computers containing electronic files were taken, all under the assumption that something in those files would indicate that Gibson had used 'protected wood from overseas' in the making of its guitars.
And which agency among Obama's storm-trooper operation descended on Gibson in such a fashion? The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
I kid you not.

ATF source: a blatant partisan act that circumvents the law and Congress

A long time street agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (the ATF), who serves as anonymous source in the ongoing investigation into the Project Gunwalker scandal, reported to blogger/citizen journalist Mike Vanderboegh yesterday that the agency's response by doubling down on the illegal activity is a blatant partisan act that circumvents the law and the will of Congress.
In the aftermath of numerous news reports both in the mainstream and alternative media concerning the illegal scheme to place guns in the hands of Mexican drug cartels--all in an attempt to produce phony statistics that would prove American guns arm the cartels and justify draconian new gun firearms legislation in the U.S.--the ATF and its oversight agency, the Department of Justice, stonewalled Congressional investigations, refusing to provide subpoenaed documents.
