Yet I almost hate to turn on some channels to only see another liberal diatribe against the war on terror. I agree with James Pavitt "The terrorist organizations are penetrable. I want every one of those SOBs looking over their shoulder." Honor requires difficulty. Keeping this type of terror away from our own shores will be on ongoing battle requiring resources and physical courage that are not limited by our past conceptions of what defines war.Be sure to read the whole thing at the link above.

This excellent review of The Hurt Locker prompted me to think about the periodic necessity for war in an imperfect world. As Americans we generally do not go looking for it, with some notable exceptions. Usually we are forced into it by circumstances beyond our control--such as the desire of barbarians to kill us.
