Remember when 'pragmatists' endorsed Kirsten Gillibrand in New York? No sooner had she been elected than she was spouting the party line on guns and everything else along with 'Little Chucky' Schumer. This stuff has gotten us NO WHERE in a hurry, and since the NRA endorses liberal Democrats, I am through with them as well.

Actually, the anniversary was the violent death of Ben Goeser in a local Nashville sports bar. His wife, Nikki, was at his side and NOT carrying her weapon, even though she is licensed to carry one, because Tennessee law forbade carry in places that sell alcohol by the drink.
The law was changed to allow permit holders to carry in these places - as long as they did not consume alcohol - later in 2009 only to be stricken down by a misguided local judge as "unconstitutionally vague" three months later.
Once again Tennessee citizens who have undergone training, background checks, and paid considerable to sums to obtain state issued licenses must disarm and become defenseless if they wish to eat in these establishments.
There are several measures once again on the table for the legislature this year to correct this abrogation of our rights to self defense. But the current situation is that there is a very strong possibility of another Ben Goeser being gunned down since no one is lawfully able to bear arms in places that serve alcohol by the drink in Tennessee. As we have seen, thugs pay no attention to laws - even no carry laws - so we are left defenseless against them in these restaurants.
Because we are law abiding.
