Glenn Beck was Right--Leave Your Church if it Preaches 'Social Justice'

Fox News personality Glenn Beck created a firestorm of controversy among some in the Christian community when he stated this week that citizens should 'leave their churches if it preaches/teaches the concept of social justice.'

He is 100% correct.

No real Christian should sit in church week after week and listen to Marxism couched in Christian terminology, which is precisely what 'social justice' is--Marxism deceptively couched in Christian terminology.

I can just hear the howls of protest now.  "But, but....,' some Christians may well say, 'Jesus taught that we are to care for the poor, the underprivileged, the downtrodden, the sick, and the oppressed.'

That much is quite correct.  But where, pray tell, did Jesus EVER say that this is the job of government?

The words of Jesus with regard to relief work are always directed at INDIVIDUALS, not governments.  This is a key distinction.  The Christian Gospel is primarily about the INDIVIDUAL's relationship with God, and NOT 'the community's.'

If Jesus' words are directed toward government policy, then that abdicates the individual of any personal responsibility.  After all, 'the government will take care of it.'

This is in direct contradiction to the tenor, tone, and position of the Christian message.  With regard to one's relationship with God, it is essential that the INDIVIDUAL 'work out your salvation with fear and trembling,' meaning that it is between you and God, alone.  Only when you stand alone before God as a sinner will you ever experience the need for and wonder of grace.

In like manner, with regard to helping the poor, the message of Jesus is illustrated in the story of the 'good Samaritan,' who personally and individually got off of his donkey, gave aid to the man who was beaten by robbers, and then took him to a place for care where he, the Samaritan, paid for the man's care OUT OF HIS OWN POCKET.

There was no expectation that government do anything whatsoever.

And Jesus never once insinuated in this story that government had any role or SHOULD have any role in the man's care.  It was all about one single solitary man--a 'good' Samaritan, who took the initiative to help a fellow human being of his own free choice.

My friends, let me be as plain-spoken and frank as I possibly can be.  If your church teaches any other Gospel than the one outlined above, which is taken directly from the Bible, then it is preaching outright heresy.  It is FALSE.  It is dangerous.  It is anti-Christian and anti-God.

Why?  Because it takes a totally secular system--Marxism, which advocates complete government control over all matters, such as healthcare--and teaches it under the guise of Christianity.  It is dishonest, underhanded, and aimed at fooling the poor unsuspecting parishioners sitting in the pew.

If I found out that my church preached and taught Marxism couched in Christian terminology, I would leave immediately and find another church.  If I went through my church's official positions and literature and found they promote Socialistic, government-based solutions to the problems of humankind, then I would leave that church immediately.  Why?  Because it is anti-Christ, pure and simple.

When government gives things to some people, it must take things from others by force.  That is oppression.  That is stealing.  And it is evil.  Yet many churches advocate for this very thing.

Christ never taught such evil.  Jesus never embraced such gibberish.  And any preacher, or teacher, or priest, or rabbi who says differently is a bare-faced liar.  Get out of their church!

I nearly every word you said. I would also like to point out that the role the church was not given was the sword. The state was given the sword (Romans 13) for our sake, The state will not reign in heaven, it will last only a season.

It is a blessing that the Church is given the commission of charity. We should not turn our blessing over to the state. We should not simply point the needy in the direction of city hall. Our faith is strengthened when we see God do miracles in the lives of those who the Church helps.

Yes prescription drugs cost to much money what Obamacare is going to do is add additional taxes onto these drugs (billions of dollars worth) that is not going to help.

The small disagreement is I don't think we should leave the term "social justice" belong to the liberal churches. We should redefine it by what the bible actually says. ... http://www.resistnet.com/profiles/blogs/what-should-christians-believe ...

I agree for the most part, but the term 'social justice' has come to mean in modern society redistribution of wealth by government...a concept Jesus NEVER taught.

Thus, we need a different term to designate helping the poor and needy so that we are not lumped in with liberal and Marxist 'Christians' who have a political rather than a spiritual agenda.
