The Dollar, the Debt, and the Doom

Folks, it's time for some sober talk about what's really happening to our country. The situation is dire, although you won't hear much about it from the state-run media (SRM).

But I will tell you about it at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

With each passing week we sink in deeper. At some point we will cross the point of no return. That day is quickly approaching. You have been duly warned.

Sexist Newsweek Cover on Palin Defended by 'Feminist' Editor

Newsweek featured Sarah Palin on the cover dressed in short shorts. Palin cries foul and charges sexism. Newsweek, of course, defends itself...in the words of its own hyper-feminist editor.

Newsbusters has the story. And I thought it was the feminists who defended women against sexism...

Report--Holdren Involved in 'Climategate' Scandal

In what is being described as 'the Climategate Scandal' whereby some of the top scientists in the world cooked the books to make it appear the world is being endangered by 'global warming,' it appears that the Obama Administration has been caught with its pants down:

The Canadian Free Press is reporting that White House Science Czar John Holdren is involved in the "climategate" scandal that has raised serious questions about the validity of global warming.

According to a report in The Canadian Free Press, some of the emails that were posted on the internet last week by a hacker who broke into the server used by the University of East Anglia Climate Research Unit include some that were written by Holdren, whose official title is Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.

Read the entire report at Darren Pope's Columbia Independent Examiner.

The Buzz on Tiger Woods

TMZ is reporting that Woods' wife is responsible for his injuries in the auto mishap yesterday morning at 2:30 AM.

Another odd factor in this developing story is that the Florida Highway Patrol waited a full 12 hours before reporting the accident. Woods' SUV mishap occurred at roughly 2:30 AM. The Patrol reported the mishap to the public at roughly 2:30 PM.

Why the long delay?

The BIG One Today in South Carolina

Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina is the setting for this year's meeting between 2 long-time in-state football rivals--the University of South Carolina Gamecocks and the Clemson Tigers.

The game begins at high noon today as over 80,000 college football fans pack the stadium to see who earns 'bragging rights' for the year.

Historically the Tigers have the edge in this meeting, having beaten the Gamecocks in roughly 6 out of 10 of these gridiron clashes. But this year the Tigers have even more of an edge, given their red-hot streak of winning their last 6 games.

The Gamecocks, on the other hand, have lost their last 3 in the super-tough Southeastern Conference.

South Carolina has a bowl game on the line this year. With a 6-5 record going into today's game, one more win will secure a bowl invitation. A loss will effectively doom any chance of that happening.

Lest anyone think that the Gamecocks are a pushover, their last 3 losses were close calls. Had one single play in each game gone the other way, they would have won 3 in a row rather than lost, and that includes their respectable performance against the Florida Gators, who have won 20 straight games.

But all bets are off on this one game. You can throw out the stats, the record, the history, all of it. In this game, expect the unexpected.

Jason at 21 Guns Salute starts us off today with a must-read entitled, 'Redemption.' It is excellent. Go over there and give it a read.

Senate Buffoonery: The Terror Trials in NYC

The buffoons in the U.S. Senate gave us a grand display just before the Thanksgiving break concerning the upcoming terror trials in NYC.

Columbia Conservative Examiner displays the hilarity, highlighting the statements of 4 U.S. Senators concerning Mirandizing enemy combatants, and even suggesting that the 'rules of evidence' apply in war settings such as Iraq and Afghanistan.

You won't believe your eyes.

Thanksgiving Greetings

Thanksgiving blessings to you and yours...

Gratitude to All of You

Just a short message to say I'm grateful this Thanksgiving for all of you, my faithful readers. Thanks for your support and for coming here day after day.

And thanks to those who provided a gift for this work here at The Liberty Sphere. The November 'Liberty-thon' is officially over today, and this will be the last special message I will write about it.

Unofficially the fundraiser continues to the end of the month. You still have time to help me in this work. But this will be the last daily promotion for it.

God bless all of you and your families, and let's continue to 'fight the good fight' for liberty!

Core Values

Maximum individual liberty, low taxes, small government, free markets, and strong national defense--these are the core values that define The Liberty Sphere.

What are these principles worth to you? Would you die for them, as our Forefathers were willing to do? Would you risk all of this world's goods in order to preserve these values, as they did?

I ask these things because like-minded people who value liberty must stick together and support each other.

Consider helping The Liberty Sphere today with a gift. I appreciate it.

Second Amendment News Roundup for 11/25/09

Texas Fred has a story that should make your head explode, and if it doesn't then you must be a freakin' Commie.

Days of our Trailers wonders how AG Eric Holder can get away with failing to provide for due process. Indeed! In this administration, due process is only for enemy war combatants and terrorists, NOT for U.S. citizens!

Walls of the City has more on the climate change scandal involving scientists who deliberately cooked the books to make it appear as if we are in 'global warming.'

David Codrea says that a new documentary film on gun rights has been produced, entitled, 'Not Without a Fight.'

Every Blade of Grass is heavily into citizen broadcasting of the traditional type, and he has the pics to show it off.

Armed Citizen posts a brief collection of must-read quotes on the right to bear arms.

Sebastian comments on the GOA position on healthcare reform.

Why Do People Still Watch Couric, Gibson, and Williams?

The talking heads of the state-run media (SRM) are at it again.

RED ALERT!! FDIC IS FLAT BROKE--from wire services

This is a news RED ALERT.

Take immediate action to protect your assets, folks! The crash is drawing near.

Second Amendment News Roundup for 11/24/09

Focusing on guns, politics, and news of interest, here is today's Second Amendment News Roundup:

Alphecca reports a story that is of great interest to me because it involves my state of South Carolina and its sales tax holidays for firearms purchases. It seems the New York Daily News pitched a fit over it. Well, I expected no better. It's New York.

Speaking of New York's total disregard of the Constitution and the rights of individuals, David Codrea reports that Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, who at first made herself out to be a 2nd Amendment supporter, continues to throw gun owners under the bus.

Vanderboegh posts chapter 7 of his excellent novel, Absolved.

Western Rifle Shooters Association has a dire warning about the realities of living under a government that adheres to the 'Cloward-Piven Strategy' proposed by Commie radicals in the 1960s.

Standing By has more on Cloward-Piven.

Breda provides all the information on tonight's edition of Gun Nuts Radio. The topic of discussion is gun shows.

Brigid blogs on her recent hunting trip over the weekend. This lady knows how to handle her firearms.

Free in Idaho has the complete scoop on phony science scams, particularly the 'biggie' recently as it has been discovered that scientists FALSIFIED data in order to make a case for 'global warming.' We've been telling you this is a scam all along.

From GunRights4US: 'A Frightening Future for our Nation.'

Mike McCarville reports big news about Sarah Palin's book tour. Ignore the polls that show Palin and Obama basically in a tie, with Palin a few points behind. She would stomp him.

Kurt Hofmann says that 'the Bastard' is up to his old tricks again in NYC, scaring the public with this terrorist loophole business regarding guns.

Conservative Libertarian Outpost asks a vital question concerning the actions of this unconstitutional government--'Do You Want Bureaucrats To Re-Write Laws?' The Constitution never granted the power to write or rewrite laws to any unelected official or officials! But that is precisely what they are doing.

Texas Fred tells us why the police officer who shot the terrorist at Fort Hood is not an appropriate choice for the Congressional Medal of Honor. And it has nothing to do with her admirable actions that day.

Around O Town's title for this post says it all--'ACORN'S Feeble Attempt to Stop Their Nuts from Hurting.'

Roberta X provides a timely reminder of the importance of the Four Rules of Shooting. We can't be reminded of their importance too often. Go read the story and give yourself a refresher course.

Sebastian suggests that perhaps the Mexican drug cartels are making their own ammo.

Say Uncle says that the major manufacturer of the MR556 is coming to the states, most likely to land in New Hampshire.

Tam
comments on the 1911 pistol and the thinking of some that it is very difficult to field-strip and re-assemble the firearm.

BANNED Under Gov't Healthcare--a Warning

Read this story that is provided by a friend of mine who has a dire warning concerning the 2 bills before Congress on healthcare reform:

Columbia Conservative Examiner

This monster is a lot more dangerous than any of us thought.

Countdown: 3 Days Left for Liberty-thon

A hearty and sincere 'thank-you' goes to those who have participated in The Liberty Sphere's November 'Liberty-thon' fundraiser. You gift is deeply appreciated.

There are only 3 days left in this promotion. Have you considered a gift to this work as of yet?

Why should you consider such a gift?

Because of the fact that you value maximum individual liberty, small government, low taxes, free markets, and strong national defense, you come here to read news from like-minded people, such as those who are featured in our 'Second Amendment News Roundup.'

The values you find exhibited here resonate with your own values.

And thus, you find yourself being drawn to these pages.

That is no accident or coincidence, my friend. People who share a common vision and purpose tend to find each other in this confusing maze of modern society. I'm glad you found me here, and I'm glad I found you. We want to leave for future generations an America that is truly a shining city on a hill, a beacon of freedom, dreams, and opportunity.

You believe as I do that the U.S. Constitution is THE final rule of law in the land and not just some cute relic from a past era. You value your free speech, your gun rights, your freedom to assemble, your freedom to worship as you please without government intrusion, and you believe in a free, independent press that is not in the hip pocket of some politician or that serves as the mouthpiece for government.

This is my message here at The Liberty Sphere, and I am poised to take this message to a wider audience. But I need your help. Funds are needed to give this blog much greater visibility and to cover start-up expenses for my travels to speak to groups that need to hear the message of sweet liberty, such as college students.

Thank-you for reading these pages day after day. I hope you will always be faithful readers whether you give a gift or not.

But I humbly ask that you consider a donation to help me in this endeavor, which is now more important than ever before.

Thank-you for being my valued friends.

Million Med March on Saturday--Fired Up!

This is where I was on Saturday along with Congresswoman Virginia Foxx, R-NC, and a dozen or more local doctors who are VERY concerned about what Congress is doing to the American healthcare system.

I had a blast, and the group was fired up with, 'I'm mad as hell, and I'm not gonna take it anymore!' The citizens who attended the rally are motivated to stop this runaway Congress and Administration.

It was my honor to be counted among those who spoke.

David Codrea follows up and asks a key question that is of great concern--will the Pentagon purge OathKeepers from its ranks?

Brigid says deer hunting season has begun and she's off to the wild...well, sort of.

Nicki lays it on the line concerning the lies about global warming.

Squeaks has done gone and gotten married and has all the photos posted to prove it! Dang. Another one bites the dust. Grrr. Seriously, I am happy for her. Congrats, my friend!

Free in Idaho puts it as plainly and truthfully as one could hope for--'Laws are for the Peons.'

Sebastian provides some ammo info, along with a comparison of 2 handguns.

Texas Fred has a word from the Founding Fathers on the tyranny the Congress thugs demonstrated on Saturday.

From Walls of the City: 'Check Your Common Sense at the Door.'

Days of our Trailers correctly observes that Hollywood marches in lockstep with liberal Administrations by incorporating themes into their films and TV shows that mirror the 'party line' of the liberal extremists.

The Rustmeister alerts us to THIS--'Instant Tea Party TODAY!' Read it all.

Insight on Freedom writes a riveting piece entitled, 'Racing toward Revolution?' Essential reading!

Ride Fast and Shoot Straight comments on Jerry Brown's support for gun rights in this post entitled, 'Naked in San Francisco.'

JUST 4 DAYS LEFT FOR LIBERTY-THON

Well, my friends, the Liberty-thon fundraiser will end on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day.

You have 4 days to share in this work by sending a donation. Thank-you ever so much to those who have shared already.

With the Senate voting to allow a 'deathcare' bill to go to the floor for debate and a vote, we need voices of protest and liberty all the more desperately. I hope you experience my voice as a necessary one in the fight to protect the sacredness and sweetness of precious human liberty in the face of an assault like we have never seen before in our history as a nation.

Thank-you in advance for anything you can do.

Where is This Thing Headed on Healthcare?

It's not looking good at all, folks, so the question is, what is the next step?

Read all about it at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

Also, there is a report on the Raleigh rally of the Million Med March this past Saturday.
