The Bloomington Herald-Times of Indiana has been engaged in a smear campaign against gun owners, treating them like sex offenders. It seems this is the real reason behind their campaign to publish the names of concealed carry license holders.
David Codrea has all of the latest.

The Memphis Commercial Appeal has been doing this for almost a year now, and scant little has come of convincing the newspaper to take the database down. Even worse, our supposed representatives cannot even pass the necessary laws to seal this information without tripping over their own feet. Even better, the Commercial Appeal has their handgun carry permit database link categorized with databases for Tennessee felony convictions, sex offenders, FBI hate crimes, FBI UCR, and various accident databases, all under the heading of "Public Safety".
While what the Herald-Times is doing is despicable, it is also not something new. Hopefully the Indianans will have better luck with their representatives...
Linoge,
I am aware that you have done a yeoman's work at Walls of the City to attempt to address the scandalous actions of the Commercial Appeal. You have done great work despite the continuing problem.
In the present political climate in this nation, I am not surprised, however, that nothing is done about these acts of tyranny against citizens.
Nothing will change until we change the personnel from top to bottom in this government.
