Second Amendment News Roundup for 6/8/09

Focusing on guns, politics, and news of interest, here is today's Second Amendment News Roundup:

Today we will do something a bit different here at the Roundup--the top 10 most popular gun and liberty blogs here at The Liberty Sphere. Just for today, we will publish posts from the 10 most popular blogs (at least here at the Liberty Sphere) as a means of highlighting their good work.

This in no way means the others are not excellent blogs or that they do not have a following. They do. But today we emphasize the most popular here, in no particular order.

Tam muses on the impending economic disaster in California in a post entitled, 'If You Listen to Fools, the Mob Rules.'

Say Uncle has an excellent read on why, as a gun blogger, he blogs with a pseudonym. I did that for a long time as well. But things changed. I still support those who wish to remain anonymous, however, for the reasons cited by Uncle.

David Codrea has 2 excellent posts, one at Gun Rights Examiner and the other on his blog at The War on Guns.

Western Rifle Shooters Association opines on the possibility of a British revolution. The events over the past couple of days would make that seem like a distinct possibility.

Sipsy Street Irregulars remembers Pvt. William Long, who was gunned down by a homegrown Muslim terrorist at a military recruiting office.

Brigid provides a MUST-read in honor of her father on D-Day. Read it all.

Kurt Hofmann has been knocked out of commission of late, but here are two of his articles, one from his blog, Armed and Safe, and the other from his St. Louis Gun Rights Examiner site.

Nicki says that conservative Stephen Crowder knocked one out of the ball park! Take a look.

Sebastian has a VERY important read, entitled, 'Stop Microstamping in New York.'

JR posts a new one from the great photographer and gun artist, Oleg Volk.

Honorable mentions: Conservative Libertarian Outpost, Walls of the City, Texas Fred, Days of our Trailers.

Thanks to ALL of you who faithfully provide material of interest to the liberty-and gun-rights community. Remember, it is the quality of your work that counts, and not necessarily the stats.

Thank you so very much Anthony. All of us have push button issues, and I think that shows in our writing. I blog because I enjoy it. Spreading the news, and the often odd twists that accompany it is one of mine. Including what I see as the erosion of our way of life. Things like ex post facto laws, or subtle gun control are way up there on my list.

The crazy thing is that it's not always politics that get the real big hit counts though. My outdoors story's get an astounding number of hits over time. Fred even suggested once that it may be a hidden calling of mine.

In the mean time, I am returning to school next Monday, and blogging will be taking a back seat at least for a while. I'll still link to your work when appropriate, but it most likely will be less.

Patrick, you have an excellent blog, and I will miss your daily posts. I wish you all the best as you begin school next week. Be sure to say hello as often as you wish, and when you post something send it directly to me, and I will make sure it gets posted in the Roundup.

All the best,
Tony
