Blago-Scandal a Who's Who of Illinois Politics

The list of persons caught in the ever-widening web of corruption that nabbed Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich reads like a who's who of Illinois politics.

A special report from Fox News indicates that well-known names such as Jessie Jackson, Jr., Obama land-deal tycoon Tony Rezko, as well as the Chicago Cubs, are implicated in the probe.

The depth and breadth of the scandal led one investigator to muse that if Illinois is not the most corrupt state in the Union, it comes mighty close.

"Most corrupt state in the Union"

I think Louisiana still has them beat. After living three years in Mississippi, and 17 in Arkansas, I have seen or heard of just about every crime and corrupt act that could be thought of in the Louisiana political system.

Of course, that does seem to be changing slowly. It has yet to be proved out, but Bobby Jindal doesn't seem to tolerate shenanigans.

I've added a reference to your post on Blagojevich Watch

Being that Obama and Blagovich share the same friends, makes this scandal all the more important, not that selling a senator seat would otherwise not be important. But Obama is close to becoming the most powerful person in the country.
