And Now It Gets VERY Interesting! Palin Calls Bluff

In light of the fact that Barack Obama refuses to cooperate with a federal investigation of voter fraud perpetrated by his organization, ACORN, Sarah Palin has ratcheted up the stakes by calling on Obama to turn over ALL of his records concerning ACORN to the FBI.

Obama, of course, has called for an investigation into the investigation, claiming impropriety on the part of the FBI in launching a national probe into his precious baby, ACORN.

But Palin has called his bluff.

If Chairman Ba-O is really serious about condemning voter fraud on the part of ACORN, like he has claimed, then let him put his money where his mouth is. Let him immediately show good faith, since he has requested a probe into the probe, by turning over all his ACORN records and correspondence to the Feds.

I love it! Go get 'em, Sarah!

Maybe I should start a good-natured 'bet.' How many would be willing to wager that if the Chairman is elected to the White House, he will be arrested and jailed during his first term of office?

Uhm, doesn't the pres' get an immunity deal while in office?

Duane,

An interesting Constitutional question, I would say.

Presidents are certainly granted certain immunities while in office, but on the other hand, no President is above the law. The Constitution provides for Articles of Impeachment for 'high crimes and misdemeanors.'

The question, I suppose, would be the event that a sitting President could be charged with a felony he committed before taking office. And voter fraud is a felony.

...when the majority of the Senate and Congress is of his own party. Don't forget that little plot twist.

How much misbehavior by their messiah would the Democrats simply be willing to ignore?

he cannot be charged with that felony as a sitting president, he can however be impeached. If convicted and removed from office, the charges may then be brought against him.

If Obama is elected the chances of impeachment are nil. The Dems will be the majority.

Clinton, though impeached, wasn't convicted and everyone knew he was guilty of a federal felony. And he wasn't even the "Messiah".

And if memory serves his party wasn't even the majority at the time, just strong enough to obstruct. Now they are the majority. Ergo Articles of Impeachment don't begin to be viable, the state of honor of our elected officials being what it is.

The "Evil Triumvitate" you mentiones will be unassailable, for any reason.

Thanks, guys, for clearing up that Constitutional question for me.

So, it appears that if Chairman Ba-O is elected and the Democrats achieve their veto-proof supermajority in Congress, then absolutely nothing, including the committing of felonies, would stop the 'evil triumvirate' totally dismantling our Constitutional form of government.

Not exactly correct. If it read "then absolutely nothing peaceful and civilized including..."

George III thought much the same thing as your original statement about his unassailable supremacy. But as these things are wont to do when the abuses became intolerable they evolved to another arena of conflict. That is always a possibility.

Most tyrants make the mistake of becoming more intolerable than the fear of their abuses. Ours would most probably be no different. Hubris is dangerous to its possessors.

Good insight! I will concede the point.
