We Can't 'Wind-Blow' Our Way Out of This

My quote of the day:

T. Boone Pickens, former oilman turned wind turbine evangelist, claims we can't 'drill our way out of this energy crisis.' Well, T. Boone, we can't 'wind-blow' our way out of it, either. Personally I don't want windmills all over scenic hillsides and on the tops of buildings throughout America. Wind turbines have their place in the solution of the energy crisis. But it will take much more than that, like an 'all of the above' approach--oil, wind, solar, hydrogen fuel cell, coal, sensible biofuels (not grains used for food!), electricity, air compression, all of it. To put all of our eggs in one basket and eliminate 'fossil fuels' entirely is a plan doomed for failure and tragedy. And the citizens will be the ones left holding the bag.

Indeed. America needs a diversified energy strategy... too many people are looking for a silver bullet. I don't dislike ethanol, wind power, biodiesel, solar, etc... but I don't have a problem with oil, coal, nuclear, etc. either.

Agreed. And by the way, even though I failed to mention it, today's nuclear power is a great form of energy. We need much more of it.

For the most part i agree with a large part of his plans, espically if it were "privately funded" as he suggests but doesn't outright call for. i can' help but wonder though, if he is willing to spend this much cas on an ad, how much does he stand to make?

Jay, he stands to make a fortune becuase he has the money of big liberals like Nan Pelosi investing in his company while blocking more oil drilling.

He has entered into a dirty deal with government liberals who for personal gain block more oil drilling while investing their own private funds in T.Boone's company.

As long as Nan has oil drilling blocked in the House, the perfect window of opportunity is created for people like T.Boone to come in and set up 'big wind.'

But as I said, if people think that we can wind-blow our way out of this, there are in for a very rude awakening.
