Second Amendment News Roundup for 7/15/08

Focusing on guns, politics, and news of interest, here is today's Second Amendment News Roundup:

David Codrea at War on Guns has several items of interest posted today, the first of which is the fact that David's report on Len Savage in the Olofson case is receiving some widespread attention. And then, David reports some great news on gun rights from Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue. Finally, David has an important update from the Olofson family.

Armed and Safe is reporting today that D.C. has no intention of giving up its restrictive measures against handguns, the Supreme Court be damned.

FreedomSight provides further commentary on the D.C. outrage.

John Lott further reports that the vote by the D.C. council on the new gun laws will be TODAY.

Mike McCarville says that the latest poll in Iowa shows Obama way ahead.

The Hill reports that John McCain has outlined his plan on Afghanistan and slammed Barack Obama over his highly flawed statements on Iraq.

Dark Blog says that the effectiveness of the conservative legal movement in minimizing the decades of liberal domination may have been greatly exaggerated.

Gateway Pundit reports that Barack Obama is frantically removing from his websites any former references to 'civil war' in Iraq or that the 'surge will not work.' Well, Mr. Magic-O-Bama, you may run but you cannot hide from your words or your record!

And get THIS one! Gateway Pundit also reports that in a speech yesterday Barack Obama referred to our Border Patrol Agents as 'terrorists.' What a complete bastard.

Sebastian has something here that makes my blood boil. A New York judge has declared that in the state of New York keeping and bearing arms is a privilege granted by state statutes and not a right. BASTARD! Looks like the fun has begun, folks.

Traction Control posts something that should be of grave concern to any gunowner. Barack Obama voted at least four times for legislation that would allow criminal charges to be brought against homeowners who use guns to defend their lives and families.

Mark Steyn unfortunately has ominous news today on his case in British Columbia. An appeal has been filed on the decision of the national Canadian Human Rights Commission to drop charges against him. Commies don't give up easily.
