Late Breaking Update on Durham Satanic Sex Case

The Raleigh News & Observer is reporting that one of the defendants charged in the bizarre rape-and-abuse Satanic sex case in Durham, North Carolina has had her bail significantly reduced by a Superior Court judge.

A judge ruled late Thursday afternoon that Joy Suzanne Johnson, 3rd Vice-Chair of the Durham County Democratic Party, will have her bail set at $75,000. Johnson's bail was originally set at $300,000.

Johnson is charged with aiding and abetting her husband's alleged scheme to lure unsuspecting couples into bondage and slavery, subjecting them to being caged up like animals, and engaging in physical, emotional, and sexual abuse while depriving them of food and water.

The couple faced their accusers in court earlier in the week as allegations were made of Satanic rituals and channeling demons.

A district court judge ruled that there is probable cause for the case to proceed to trial.

Johnson's husband, Joseph Scott Craig, is charged with 2 counts of assault with a deadly weapon, 3 counts of 2nd-degree kidnapping, 2nd-degree rape, and 2nd-degree forcible sexual offense.
