Second Amendment News Roundup for 5/29/08

Focusing on guns, politics, and news of interest, here is today's Second Amendment News Roundup:

Well, well, well, the Reverend Michael 'Snuffy' Pfleger is back in the news. The Obama supporter is the one who stated that gun owners should be 'snuffed out.' Now he's back, preaching a sermon at Barack's ultra-liberal church in Chicago, where he blasted Hillary Clinton:

Michelle Malkin, who reported on the story above, has this item from Atlantic City. There is a statue of Lenin there. Commie chic?:

Good news out of Ohio! The Castle Doctrine/Firearms bill passed the legislature and is headed to the Governor for his signature. Buckeye Firearms Association has the story:

The Volokh Conspiracy has good reading today on 'the Bill of Rights in the early state courts':

And Happy Birthday wishes go to Roberta X! Here's to many, many more!:

The MUST-read of the day is over at The Bitch Girls. Bitter reminds us that falling home prices allow many more people--particularly first-time home-buyers--to get into the market. Take a look at this post and note what a really stupid radio host said about the matter:

Now, folks, we conservatives believe that we as individuals should help each other when we are in need rather than government doing it. And there is no better way to express this than to go over to FreedomSight and help our fellow gunblogger who has a broken crown but no dental insurance. Go over there by clicking here, and then leave a donation to a man who needs it:

David Codrea reports that the jackbooted thugs of the ATF are reaching out to their bosom buddies in the mainstream media:

Squeaky provides interesting reading on a new anti-gun blog entitled, 'God Not Guns':

Sadly, Breda gives us yet another tragic reason why women need to learn to use firearms:

Go read this at The Liberty Zone. Nicki has the scoop on a Democrat who has proposed massive legislation that will lead us into Marxism:

Robb Allen pens the quote of the day in this post:

Gateway Pundit documents the massive decline of coverage of the Iraq War by the mainstream media, just as the surge starts working. Interesting, ain't it:

Glenn Reynolds points to an article that correctly observes that ethanol will starve the planet while bio-diesel provides a green alternative that will not use food for fuel:

Cap'n Bob and the Damsel blog on getting a grip on the Warthog:

Yes, indeedy! This is my kind of woman. Missouri State Treasurer Sarah Steelman is running for Governor as a Republican, and she has bought a gun. She's pretty, too! JR has the story:

Mike McCarville reports that U.S. Senator Tom Coburn, R-Oklahoma, predicts the GOP will lose seats in the Senate, and he thinks they should. Here's why:

Thanks for the link. I should note that I broke a tooth, not a crown, and I have my fingers crosseed that the filling holds up. I was quite surprised that it could be filled. Still an expense I didn't need, and I'm grateful for the donations, and for Kevin's Bumper Sticker campign.

Jed,

You're very welcome. Glad it wasn't as bad as first thought. But still, as you say, dental work is expensive even for 'minor' procedures.

Hope you get all the help you need for the expense.
