Update on Allenna Williams Ward Sex Scandal Case

Allenna Williams Ward, shown above, is the Middle School English teacher accused of criminal sexual misconduct with five teenage boys in Clinton, South Carolina.

Ward has plead not guilty to the charges.

The state's attorney in the case, Laurens County Circuit Solicitor Jerry Peace has stated that he is attempting to work out a deal with Ward's attorney, presumably a plea bargain. Peace further stated that if a deal could not be reached with Ward and her attorney, that 'we may then try this case in a year and a half or so.'

To the casual observer this may mean nothing. But to astute observers of the court system there is plenty that can be gleaned from the words of the prosecutor.

The obvious factor that strikes us about this case is that if the allegations and charges against Ward are true, then she would be nothing less than a hardened, seasoned sexual predator, worthy of the most stringent sentence that could be leveled against her under the law.

Yet Mr. Peace is not proceeding with this case as one who actually believes he is dealing with a hardened sexual predator.

This means there are two possibilities--either Ward is entirely innocent and has been falsely accused, in which case Peace is giving things time to settle in the hope the truth comes out, or, he believes Ward is guilty but cannot amass sufficient evidence to prove her guilt in court.

At this time I tend to believe Ward is entirely innocent and has been falsely accused.

The complete silence surrounding this case is yet another odd circumstance, given the severity of the charges and allegations. Ward and her attorney have been totally silent throughout this case, which is understandable. At first the pot-bangers in Clinton took to the streets to decry the 'child molester' and such. But now even they are totally tight-lipped. So are the boys who made the accusations.

As always, The Liberty Sphere will keep you updated on all further developments.

Thanks for the update. If the charges prove false, there are several young men who need to be sent to the nearest Juvenile Detention Center.

I am curious about the out come of this case. This teacher was my son's teacher. The outcry about racism is only by people that have no children at the school. This was a teacher that really motivated my son. I asked him how did he feel about the case, he states that she was a nice lady. He states that she is the teacher. I have talked with several students from the school. They are very upset about the situation and want the community to stop talking about it.

So is it your sense, then, that the accusations against her are false?

I believe in the innocent until proven guilty. I received a letter from the school when they terminated Ms. Ward. The letter indicates that a letter was turned into the office by several students. It is important to note that the students that are alleged to be victims did not turn the note into the prinicpal. The prinicpal talked with the teacher and she acknowledged writing the note with inappropriate language between a teacher and student. The prinicpal conducted a full investagation and found several letters exchanged between students and Ms. Ward. Ms. Ward was terminated becauseof student/ teacher in appropriate interaction. I hope that she is not quilty. I find it hard to believe that 6 boys would make up the stories. I know of more kids that were questioned by the law enforcment. I just know that the students at Bell Street are trying to move forward. So for the most part the community is trying help the students move forward by not talking about the case.

For me, the bottom line is that I don't think we've yet heard the full truth here. The idea that this woman slept with 5 or 6 kids is a little too much for me to believe. If it had been only 1 kid, I might be more inclined to believe it.

I think that 99% of people that are charged with a crime are guilty generally. In her case though, I'd say she's probably in that 1%.

Maybe she said some inappropriate things in a letter to one of the boys. Maybe they were baiting her with inappropriate letters and she fell for it, instead of turning the letters over to the school administrators. It could be that she's just guilty of bad judgment more than anything else (wrt the letters).

I agree with Lloyd-Morgan's view that the prosecutor's language leads you to believe that the evidence isn't there.

The prosecutor may a plead bargain with the other teacher from Lauren County also. It is far better sometimes to take the plea that to stand a jury trail.

Anything new to report?

Nothing so far. As soon as any news comes out of this case, I will post it here.

Mrs. Ward may not be so quick to take a plea bargain. If she is innoncent and feels that her name and reputation have been despicably sullied, then she may adamantly resist any plea deals.

Just an observation...

Allenna Williams is guilty, having plead as such and apologized to the families involved for her utterly outrageous behavior.

One has to wonder how this keeps happening, as we see case after case of female teachers having sex with their students. Has it always been so, but is just more visible now, in our media-saturated culture? Is it indicative of a general societal malaise? A product of the hypersexualization of women today?

I don't know... but we'd best find answers soon. Our children face enough peril at school without having to worry about their teachers, too.
