Dems Show Contempt for Gun Rights in D.C.

Washington, DC (TLS). The House of Representatives was in complete disarray Thursday afternoon as a bill supporting voting rights for residents of the District of Columbia was pulled by House leaders, placing the measure on indefinite hold.

The reason? House Republicans had attached a measure to the bill that would repeal the D.C. gun ban, a ban which a Federal Court has already ruled as unconstitutional.

At least 50 conservative Democrats were set to align themselves to vote with Republicans on this important measure to restore Constitutional rights to bear arms in D.C. But House leaders decided that they had rather pull the D.C. voting rights bill than to be embarrassed by the defections of conservative Democrats in joining with Republicans to restore 2nd Amendment rights.

Thus, in this single move, House Democrats, with the exception of the 50 defectors who would dare defy Pelosi's Commi-House, have shown beyond any doubt their utter contempt for the gun rights of citizens in D.C.

The extremist Leftist House leadership would rather withdraw the entire bill from consideration than to allow 50 of their most conservative members to join with Republicans in restoring the Constitutional right to keep and bear arms to the citizens of D.C.

Observers of the House report that at this point the entire chamber disintegrated into disarray. Pelosi was missing in action. Hoyer was yelling at his staff. Democrats on the floor were angrily yelling about how those awful Republicans would be so brazen as to attach a measure insuring gun rights to a bill insuring voting rights (BOTH of which are Constitutional rights). Republicans were fuming about how the Democrats withdrew from the table any consideration of voting rights SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT BRING THEMSELVES TO ALLOW CITIZENS IN D.C. TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS, AS THE CONSTITUTION AFFIRMS.

The one central fact that has risen to the surface in this shameful display is that the contempt of gun rights by House Democrats outweighs any concern about voting rights. They had rather D.C. not have representation in the House than to allow citizens to exercise their Constitutional right to own and carry guns.

As we have said many times, the Democrat leadership is an absolute disgrace to the country.
