Good News on D. James Kennedy Health Crisis

Washington, DC (TLS). Good news comes from Coral Ridge Ministries concerning the health crisis of Coral Ridge founder, the Reverend Doctor D. James Kennedy.

Kennedy suffered a massive heart attack at his home shortly after Christmas. Initially Dr. Kennedy was in grave condition, on life support, and showing few signs of recovery. However, days later tests revealed there was no brain damage and that Kennedy's chances of survival were greatly enhanced. This enabled removal of life support, to which Dr. Kennedy responded positively.

In recent days Kennedy has been receiving visitors, holding brief conversations, and responding to therapy.

Here is a complete update from Coral Ridge:

Update on Dr. Kennedy’s Health
Brian Fisher, Executive Vice President,
Coral Ridge Ministries

We are grateful for the many expressions of concern that have been made on behalf of Dr. D. James Kennedy.

On Thursday, December 28, Dr. Kennedy suffered heart arrhythmia leading to cardiac arrest. He was given CPR and admitted to the hospital. He has since improved. On Wednesday, January 3 he underwent a procedure to implant a pacemaker/defibrillator and continues to make progress.

We are so thankful for your prayers and encouragement! Please continue to intercede on his behalf for a complete recovery and for his return to his normal ministry duties.

—Brian E. Fisher, Executive Vice President, Coral Ridge Ministries

We continue to offer many prayers for the complete recovery of Dr. Kennedy. We hope that soon he can return to his pulpit at the Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church.
