Pelosi Endorses Murtha for Post

John Murtha, the Pennsylvania Democrat who stated that the midterm elections has stripped President Bush of all the power endowed to the Executive Branch by the U.S. Constitution, has received the endorsement of Nancy Pelosi to become the House Majority Leader in the new Congress. Pelosi will become the new Speaker.

Not only has Murtha displayed his ignorance concerning the Constitutional provisions of a careful balance of power between the three branches of government, but he has recently stated that winning in Iraq is not a strategy. Murtha has been an outspoken advocate for an immediate withdrawal of troops from Iraq, which he claims will bring stability to the region. This is in spite of Iran's stated goal of wiping Israel off the map and extending its ire to Europe and the United States.

Despite Murtha's obvious lack of insight and a shocking failure to grasp relatively simple issues, Pelosi obviously feels that this is the man best suited to lead the Democrats in Congress.

If one begins to wonder why America's enemies all over the world view the Democrat victory last Tuesday as a victory for them as well, one need look no further than John Murtha as an example. Murtha's and other Demos' outspoken advocacy for an immediate withdrawal from Iraq has led the Iranian President to claim that when Democrats took control of Congress it signaled that Muslim extremists are winning the war in their global Jihad.

Several terrorist groups have also viewed the Democrat win as an indication of the disintegration of the American government. Venezuelan nutcase Hugo Chavez chimed in with his agreement with that notion.

Is it any wonder? When a well-known Congressman such as Murtha states before cameras that the Democrat victory in the midterm elections means the President has no power, that he is a mere figurehead, thus suggesting that the Executive Branch is subservient to the Legislative Branch, no wonder our enemies feel emboldened. A powerful U.S. Congressman doesn't even have an elementary grasp of the U.S. Constitution, which affords equal power to each of the three branches of government--The President, the Congress, and the Supreme Court.

This is precisely why I warned voters prior to the election that voting against Republicans out of their discontent over the war and scandal would be a disastrous act of rage that has no basis in rationality. My concern was not to protect Republicans who became involved in scandal or who exhibited little desire to fight for causes of liberty, but the consequences of Democrats rising to power who would pose a danger to the country. We are now seeing my worst fears being realized, I am sorry to say.

Not only are we going to be treated to higher taxes when the Bush tax cuts are repealed, not only are we going to be treated to an assault on 2nd amendment rights as never before, not only are we going to witness the blocking of judicial nominees that dare question the wisdom of Roe v. Wade, not only are we going to see the refusal to approve the appointment of John Bolton, the best U.N. Ambassador we have ever had, but we are forced to endure the stark ignorance of Democrat leaders such as John Murtha, who pose a danger to the country from the sheer lack of basic knowledge about our own government and the intricacies of U.S. foreign policy at a time when global jihad is on the march.

So stay tuned. With this looney tunes Congress on full display for two years, our silver lining is that their power will last for ONLY two years.
