Free speech banned, but only for conservative Christians

Time to wade in on the controversy that should not be a controversy at all on Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson and his remarks on gays. A few key points are being woefully missed in the current brouhaha.

First, the free speech clause of the First Amendment to the Constitution is not intended to protect speech that we like. The exact opposite is true. The First Amendment exists to protect speech we deplore.
