Joe Scarborough, former Republican congressman and current host of the MSNBC morning news program, Morning Joe, blasted conservatives on Monday for "vitriolic rhetoric" that turns off voters and for putting up candidates who embarrass themselves with high profile gaffes.
Scarborough made the remarks during an interview conducted by conservative talk radio host Hugh Hewitt.
Although Scarborough articulated a thoughtful conservative point of view that defines his own political ideology, he stated that talk radio hosts such as Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Glenn Beck hurt the cause due to their tendency to go over the top in an "attempt to get better ratings."
