Second Amendment News Roundup for 4/23/09

Focusing on guns, politics, and news of interest, here is today's Second Amendment News Roundup:

Texas Fred reminds us he will be on the radio tonight beginning at 10:30 PM Central time to discuss Texas sovereignty, the Tea Parties, and the Texas Governor's race. The link will take you to the blog radio site.

David Codrea of The War on Guns and Kurt Hofmann of Armed and Safe were both cited in a major national news story about the 9th circuit court decision on the 2nd Amendment. Click here to read the article.

From St. Louis Gun Rights Examiner: 'Use Freedom of Speech to Protect the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.'

From Codrea's Gun Rights Examiner: 'Don't Forget the DDTC/ITAR Threat to Guns. You Knew About It, Right?'

Brigid blesses us with great photography and commentary on the joys of hunting.

The Newbius Papers provides a MUST-read entitled, 'Treaties and Law.' Obama is signing away our national sovereignty, and apparently no one in government cares enough to stop him.

Say Uncle shows us a perfect reason, from personal experience, why the concealed carry database should be CLOSED to the public!

Western Rifle Shooters Association announces a mega-handgun training party at Front Sight coming up soon. Click the link for details.

Tam points to a handy Terrorist/Not a Terrorist chart, just in case you're having trouble telling them apart...

Pax Parabellum has a news story that may well point to something terribly amiss in the economy--something we may not yet know. The suicide of the CFO of FreddieMac may be an indication of even deeper corruption and economic disaster than any of us know.

Insight on Freedom provides essential reading entitled, 'Clean Energy is a Dirty Lie.'

Conservative Libertarian Outpost says that the firestorm of controversy over the DHS report on so-called 'right wing terrorists' is growing.

Days of our Trailers reports that the Leftwing 'League of Women Voters' (are they still around!!??) held an anti-gun 'forum' in Illinois.

Sebastian points to a controversy that erupted in Pennsylvania over the issue of Open Carry.

Speaking of open carry, OpenCarry.org is asking for volunteers in Wisconsin to help with the effort there.

Sipsy Street Irregulars has a MUST-read entitled, 'What Now?' Read it all.

Armed Citizen provides good reading today from none other than Chuck Norris.

From John Jacob H: 'Geese Are Evil and Need to Die!'

Blogstitution has a great read entitled, 'Why Not Release ALL the Memos?'

Free in Idaho has the quote of the day. Take a look!

By the way, what did YOU do for 'Earth Day' yesterday? Not being one to pass up a celebration, I lit up a few cigars, let the pickup truck run idle for over an hour, topped off my gas tank at the filling station, and turned the air conditioning up as high as it would go. I started to deliberately break one of those newfangled light bulbs that are supposedly enviro-friendly, but the gub'mint told me it was poison if you break one. So I took it outside and broke it. Hope the mercury from one of those safe, environment-friendly light bulbs didn't kill anybody.
