Disarmament collectivists win significant battles

In spite of the fact that Congress appears to be stymied in its effort to pass gun control legislation, the disarmament collectivists in the various liberal states have won significant battles that gun rights activists say are "intolerable acts."

Colorado threatens journalist with jail

Excerpt:

"This entire episode presents yet another troubling chapter in Colorado's descent into the cesspool of tyranny. The state has vilified ordinary citizens who own guns by essentially blaming them and making them responsible for what criminals do with firearms, blatantly infringing on an unalienable right that is protected by the Constitution. And now the state seeks to infringe on the First Amendment right to a free press that is to be independent and immune from the attacks of government."

The Index Page for all of my articles in the series Musings After Midnight

I now have the complete index of all of the articles I have written at The Liberty Sphere in my series Musings After Midnight.

You may access the index page here.

This makes it convenient for you to find all of the posts in the series, beginning with the very first entry and proceeding until the latest, which I just published this morning.

Musings After Midnight: The clock is ticking and it is now 15 seconds to midnight when the darkness falls on America

Good morning, my friends, and welcome to another edition of Musings After Midnight. It has been very cold here in the mountains, foothills, and Piedmont region of the Carolinas. So, pull up a chair and warm yourself by the fire, and have some hot coffee.

I wish I had good news to report to you this morning, but truth is, I do not. In fact, the news is not just bad. It is dismal. But you need to know the truth. You need to be informed about what we face, and that means a sobering, grim assessment of what is ahead.

Those of you who read these pages regularly are aware that ever since Obama and the Democrats in Congress announced their all out assault on the gun rights of citizens in the aftermath of Sandy Hook, I have maintained that we are down to 30 seconds to midnight on the doomsday clock -- the hour when the darkness falls on America for perhaps a thousand years.

I must now inform you that we are down to 15 seconds to midnight, and the clock is ticking. In the time since we last spoke, circumstances have changed for the worse. Frankly, I don't give the nation any hope apart from an all out war to restore the Constitution. I wish with all my heart that it were not so. I am truly grieved by it, and my heart is very heavy.

In spite of the fact that Obama's attempt to destroy citizens' rights has been met with numerous roadblocks in Congress, the states, one by one, are falling into the most egregious tyranny. New York, Connecticut, Colorado, and Maryland have passed laws that are clearly unconstitutional and that fly in the face of a clear, absolute declaration in our Constitution that the right of citizens to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. One of those states is going to begin fingerprinting all citizens who purchase firearms and ammo as if they were common criminals.

These acts, these laws, are themselves criminal. The very act of attacking the freedom and liberty of the American people is a criminal act in and of itself. In the best of all possible worlds, the politicians in each of these states who voted in favor of these tyrannical laws would be sitting in jail as we speak, charged with the crime of seeking to deny citizens their Constitutional rights. They are the ones who should be treated as common criminals, the lowest of the low, little small minded tin horn fiefs who are drunk with their own power. Their actions should not be tolerated anywhere by anyone. And they should not be allowed to serve in an elected office no matter what kind of "majority vote" they get. Sometimes, especially in these modern times when imbeciles reign supreme, the majority makes decisions that are too stupid to be valid.

Our Framers stated clearly that when laws are passed that are contrary to the Constitution, those laws are not to be obeyed and the people responsible for passing them are tyrants guilty of crimes along with the people who elected them to office. We don't have "majority rule" in America nor should we. What we have is a Constitutional Republic based on principles that even the majority cannot negate. As long as the majority adheres to those principles, then well and good. But when they discard those principles, then the majority of voters are just as criminal and tyrannical as the crooked liberty-killers they elect to office. Their decisions are to be viewed as rubbish that do not carry the weight of law or authority. And at that point, the Patriots, the real descendants of Jefferson, Washington, Madison, Franklin, Adams, Henry, and Webster are obligated to defy the majority, disobey the unconstitutional laws passed by the tyrants, and if necessary forcibly remove such tyrants from office.

What does this mean exactly?

It means that I am not obligated to obey any law that directly contradicts the Constitution of the United States. I am not obligated to submit to the authority of tyrants. I do not recognize their authority. They are illegitimate, and therefore, their laws are illegitimate. And if you as a citizen support and enable the work of these tyrants, then you are not my fellow countryman but a traitor worthy of nothing but disdain and derision...and jail. I have exactly ZERO respect for any citizen who supports robbing me of my rights.

Thus, to New York, Connecticut, Colorado, and Maryland, I will say to you that you are are a shameful embarrassment to our country. You are a worthless bundle of mindless sheep being led around by a pied piper into a brave new world that neither recognizes nor affirms that human beings have certain natural unalienable rights, except for what you make up in your demented minds that have been rotted from within, from stem to lobe, by your progressive vision that is based on rank Marxism. You would deny me the right to defend myself with a firearm but turn around and claim that all human beings have a "right" to health insurance, even if you have to force me to pay for it. You are a fool. A despicable, sick, and evil fool.

The situation as it now stands is this. The states are falling into tyranny, clearly, blatantly, and arrogantly defying a direct statement in our Constitution that protects the right of all citizens to defend themselves with firearms. Barack Obama and his feminized, kept man with a rich wife, otherwise known as "Lurch" John Kerry, have approved the U.N. Small Arms Treaty that reaches down into our sovereign nation, grabs it by the throat, and requires it to regulate firearms. And in the Senate, some Republicans are standing perched and ready, like the deadly, menacing fowl sitting on powerlines ready to swoop down to slaughter their human prey, as depicted in Hitchcock's "The Birds," to help their Democrat counterparts pass a stringent assault on private property rights by requiring private gun sales, citizen to citizen, to be subject to background checks.

You had best be watching potential traitors such as McCain, Graham, Murkowski, Portman, Corker, Alexander, Kirk, Collins, Flake, Toomey, and Ayotte very closely on this. They will sell us out in a heartbeat if we do not keep up immense pressure on them to resist any and all gun control measures, including this sham and ruse of "universal background checks," which is nothing but a backdoor method of registration, a national database, and eventually, confiscation.

Party affiliation is meaningless in this matter. It should be noted that in the blue states that passed unlawful restrictions on gun rights, Republicans helped the Democrat majority in those states pass these laws.

Frankly, I don't care one whit about Party here. I have seen the truth about some things, and it ain't pretty. In the Senate there are only six Republicans I have one ounce of respect for. I have ZERO respect for any Democrat. In the House, I can respect and affirm 40 to 50 Republicans at the most. Again, ZERO Democrats. But this means that in both the House and Senate I cannot support nor respect a large majority of the Republicans. The Democrats are a total lost cause.

Some want me to name the Republicans I can support. I can readily do that, at least in the Senate since they are so few in number. They are Cruz, Paul, Inhofe, Rubio, Vitter, and Lee. This does not mean I agree with them on everything. But at least they have some principles. Most of the others are as worthless as the Democrats.

Are you beginning to understand why I am so pessimistic about the future of the country?

The electoral process has failed us. We can no longer trust the voters to do the right thing, make sane decisions, or even be fully informed on the issues. Both Parties have failed us. And as for the White House? How can any sane American feel good about the country when two times in a row the voters went for a grandiose, dictatorial egomaniac?

And the Vice President is a village idiot who I'm surprised can remember his own name.

For a while when it became clear that Obama was not going to get most of his gun control proposals approved, I had begun to feel a bit better about the country. But now it has become all too apparent that the season of hope was to be shortlived. I see no way out of this mess short of Jefferson's final solution. The tree of liberty from time to time must be refreshed with the blood of patriots and of tyrants, said Jefferson.

Jefferson knew something that no one else knew, or at least they would not admit that they knew -- the kind of liberty they envisioned for this country is very fragile and tends to erode with time at the hands of evil men who make their way into positions of power. And thus, in order to keep those liberties from being totally annihilated, Patriots must be willing to do whatever is necessary to preserve or restore them, including going to war with fellow citizens and the tyrants they have placed in elected office.

It is now 15 seconds to that hour when this nation plunges into the most important war since the American Revolution of 1776. This will be a war to restore the Constitution that has been attacked, ignored, ridiculed, maligned, shredded, and violated by the president, the Congress, the Supreme Court, and at least a dozen states.

If the states continue down the path set by New York, Connecticut, Colorado, and Maryland, then they had best get set. They are starting a long, hard-fought, and bloody civil war. If Obama and Democrats in Congress, along with a few faux Republicans, continue their assault on the liberties protected by the Constitution, then their actions are tantamount to a declaration of war on the citizens. And if the Supreme Court continues to make asinine decisions such as affirming Obamacare in spite of no precedent and no rational argument in favor of it, then they, too, are asking for war.

The citizens have been arming themselves to the hilt for four years. And they are accumulating ammunition, just like Nappy at Homeland Security. You got bullets, Nappy? Well, we have them too...billions of rounds.

And let this be a warning to those who sit in the seats of power in what was once this Constitutional Republic -- if you intend to open fire on us, then be fully aware that we will respond in kind. We will never start a war. But you will. We have seen people of your ilk in action before -- in Nazi Germany, Communist Russia, Communist China, Communist Cuba, and Communist North Korea. We know what your kind will do if you feel your power is being threatened.

Do you want to be like them? Well, if you do, be fully aware that we, the people of America, are not submissive sheep like they were in those countries. We are American Patriots who will fight to the death for liberty. Fair warning.

The 2A News Roundup--Top 10 for Thursday, April 4, 2013

All guns and politics from the best gun rights and liberty bloggers on the Internet.

Mike Vanderboegh reports that Maryland is the latest of the liberal states poised to fall away from the affirmation of "certain unalienable rights." This is getting ridiculous.

David Codrea relays the surprising news that the ACLU is now supporting those of us who oppose "universal background checks," which is nothing more than a ruse to establish a national registry of gun owners and encroach on property rights.

Kurt Hofmann informs us that the despicable Leviathans in the Senate, such as Harry Reid, wish to disarm young adults under the age of 21, although the Leviathans will not hesitate to send them into battle to use the government's assault weapons!

WRSA notes that the resistance movement is working on intelligence gathering and such. Oh, and in case you have not noticed yet, we are going to war unless these wacko anti-rights, anti-gun, anti-freedom forces in Colorado, Maryland, Connecticut, New York, and other states back off their assault on our rights. This is fine with me in another sense. If they are disarmed, they have to surrender when the SHTF.

Standing By says that these are the days when Christians must FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT. I agree. We are being attacked on multiple fronts, and this is no time for retreat. We must go into the "Church Militant" mode as they did when Christianity fought for its life against Muslim barbarians in the Middle Ages.

Nicki rips to shreds the severely intellectually-challenged Congresswoman Diana DeGette. Oh, and this moronic piece of work is one of the main sponsors of gun control legislation.

Way Up North celebrates his 5th year as a blogger. Congrats! And folks, this is a blog I like very much. Put him on your regular "must-read" list.

Obamacare begins to unravel

As the provisions of Obamacare gradually come to the surface in the first phase of its implementation in 2013, the blowback from citizens, elected representatives, and the healthcare industry has already begun. Obamacare is becoming unraveled.

Teachers unions plan to crush parent-led schooling

The Examiner has learned that the head of a parent-led schooling organization stated Tuesday that powerful teachers unions, particularly the National Education Association and state-based unions in Democratic states, plan to crush parent-led schooling by cracking down on "accountability" and "intolerance," and passing a plethora of rules and regulations that would render such schooling practically powerless.

Approximately 3-5 percent of all school age students are homeschooled in America today. Projections estimate that based upon the explosive growth of homeschooling, the number of homeschooled students could skyrocket to 15 percent of all children within 10 years.

Frightened by such prospects, powerful teachers unions in the various states plan to do all that is necessary to squelch the homeschool movement.

Roberta X has some news about The Bastard and his progress on getting an Indiana senator on his side...depending on which way the wind blows.

Around O-Town says that The Bastard has also been hard at work in Orlando, Florida, and the local politicians there seem to be eating out of his hands.

CLO urges us to contact the NRA to strongly encourage them to support the Rand Paul-Ted Cruz-Mike Lee filibuster in the Senate to prevent the gun ban bill from moving forward. Yes, this is very important, and we must stand firm. NO COMPROMISE!

Every Blade of Grass shares some bad news about his wife's grandson. Continue to remember all of these good folk in your prayers.

GunRights4US posts a graphic that shows the difference between libertarians, Republicans, and Democrats.

The Twisters present a must-read on the entitlement mentality that says, "What's mine is mine, and what's yours is mine too."

Karl Denninger analyzes the Stockton, Calif. bankruptcy and notes that the same thing is on the way for many other cities, perhaps the nation as a whole. Read to find out why.

Stand Up America reports that Maj. Gen. Paul E. Vallely is issuing a "national call to action" to save the country from our destructive federal government.

How many times must 2A be infringed before the book is thrown at the tyrants?

Excerpt:

"Thus, Connecticut is standing on the edge of a most dangerous precipice. The state apparently assumes it has the authority to infringe upon and limit an individual right protected by the Constitution, and in a manner that is blatant and wildly excessive.

"The Framers referred to such actions as tyranny, and they believed that any individual or any state that violates the intent, spirit, and letter of the Constitution should face the full consequences of the law which was and remains very clear about criminal and legal sanctions against the perpetrators of tyranny.

"If Connecticut proceeds to approve the bill that is currently moving through the legislature, it then becomes a rogue state that should face the punishment the Framers delineated for tyrants."

All guns and politics from the best gun rights and liberty bloggers on the Internet.

David Codrea provides an important update on the expended brass issue that has concerned gun owners who engage in "reloading" ammo.

Brigid explains why she needs an AR-15, although the government nanny state insists she doesn't.

Mike Vanderboegh reports that there is an adapter system that allows a 12-gauge shotgun to fire 11 different types of ammo.

Kurt Hofmann says that a St. Louis anti-gun rally advocates for the subversion of the Second and 14th Amendments.

WRSA has a most sobering quote of the week.

Way Up North posts some news from the Anchorage Second Amendment Task Force.

John Jacob H instructs us very effectively on why it is important to follow the admonition, "Do not answer the door!" Where did people get that they are obligated to open the door to whoever knocks, or for that matter, to answer the phone every time it rings? What I do with my time is my decision, my business, and mine alone.

Nicki lets it fly as only she can concerning the latest harebrained explanation of gun violence. You gotta see this.

Standing By blows the whistle on U.S. Sen. Kay Hagan, who managed to hide her real colors until now.

Pamela Geller takes us back to Germany on April 1, 1933. It's eery that in many countries it is April 1, 1933 all over again.

What on earth is Rand Paul thinking?

U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., breathed hope and new life into the conservative movement with his willingness to launch an old fashioned Senate filibuster against Obama's plans to use drones to target and kill U.S. citizens on American soil. He has also stood firm against the administration's attempts to disarm the public.

However, Paul has stunned many conservatives with two policy statements of late that go to the very core of the conservative movement. If he persists, he may well lose the support of millions as he contemplates a presidential run in 2016.

A conspiracy theory for the ages

Excerpt:

"Very few thinking persons would take these outlandish theories seriously. Yet within Cooper's nightmarish fantasies he either inadvertently or deliberately inserted a conspiracy theory that has all of the markings of literal truth. In such an instance, the conspiracy is not a theory but an actuality.

"Within the pages of "Behold a Pale Horse," Cooper charges that certain sectors of the U.S. government initiated a covert operation decades ago designed to gradually turn the population against the private ownership of firearms. In order to accomplish such a feat, the government set about on a deliberate course of action that would insure that deadly, military grade firearms would make it into the hands of dangerous criminals. This would send the crime rate skyrocketing, the result of which fearful citizens would demand gun control and gun bans."

While you weren't looking, Obama moves forward on guns

During the 1990s former President Bill Clinton perfected the practice of creating multiple distractions while engaging in other activity behind the scenes, under the table, or in this case, in a White House closet. Known as "wagging the dog," Clinton used the practice to cover his Oval Office affair with Monica Lewinsky, plus a number of other more important issues that he considered to be unpalatable to the public.

Obama is not only masterful at the use of the distraction tactic, but he has taken it to a new level of perfection, utilizing the Alinksy philosophy of bombarding the public with so much jaw-dropping news at once so as to insure they are not paying attention to the real tyranny going on behind the scenes.

While the American electorate was distracted and therefore not looking, Obama has been busy moving forward on his anti-gun agenda in various ways.

David Codrea informs us that a black Republican is running to replace Jessie Jackson, Jr. in the U.S. House of Representatives. David sees some hope here.

Nicki points to an interesting character who "cleaned Jim Carrey's clock for him" over his remarks on guns and gunowners. It's good. Read it, especially given that as a Hollywood elitist, Carrey has armed bodyguards.

Kurt Hofmann declares that Bloomberg's $12 million anti-gun ad campaign is negligent and dangerous.

Days of our Trailers relays a message "from the mouths of idiots."

Blonde Sagacity posts an excellent political editorial cartoon on Democrats. Take a look.

Pamela Geller reports the explosive news that an Islamic religious authority has ruled that prostitution for male terrorists is acceptable as part of "sexual Jihad." Question: why on earth do liberal women on the Left support radical Islamists when it is abundantly clear they are virulently anti-women?

Democrats have much more to fear than NRA

Writing in The Daily Beast today, Michael Tomasky analyzes the chances of getting an assault weapons ban and expanded background checks from Congress, which presently is mired in gridlock. Tomasky supports strict gun control laws and castigates Democrats from red states for failing to support current gun control proposals.

But Tomasky's theory about why these particular Democrats are reticent about supporting such laws is fundamentally flawed. He blames it on the NRA, stating that the Democratic senators from the red states are "terrified of the NRA."

Tomasky notes that in the states where Democratic senators are most reluctant to vote in favor of gun control, the NRA is very strong. And while that may be a factor in the mix, it is certainly not the only factor nor the main one.

Big Sis admits Dems depend on Mexican immigrants for votes

Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano, otherwise known as "Big Sis" as a take-off on the commonly used term "Big Brother" to denote big government oppression, has inadvertently admitted that the Democratic Party counts on Mexican immigrants for votes.

Napolitano made the remarks during a discussion with reporters Tuesday, which was sponsored by the Christian Science Monitor and broadcast by CSPAN 2. The Washington Free Beacon reports that in answering questions from the press, Napolitano's attention was turned to the state of Arizona where she once served as governor.

When asked if she foresees Arizona turning into a so-called "blue state" dominated by Democrats, Napolitano said she sees...

DHS lies to public; large movement of armored vehicles reported

Two weeks ago a source told the Examiner that DHS is amassing large amounts of deadly hollow-point bullets and procuring dozens of armored landmine-resistant vehicles. Anonymous sources inside DHS have confirmed that the agency has purchased 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition.

DHS flatly denies the ammo purchases. The agency also refused to answer questions posed by Congress on the procurement of the armored vehicles. But a low-level DHS official confirmed that the agency has such vehicles, although their only use is to "serve high risk warrants."

However, immediately following DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano's denials before Congress, the agency purchased yet another 360,000 rounds of ammunition, bringing the total purchase thus far to 1.7 billion bullets.

In addition, citizen sources have reported spotting large movements of the landmine resistant vehicles across the country...

Time to blow the lid on Bloomberg tyranny

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced Sunday that his anti-gun group, Mayors Against Illegal Guns, would launch a $12 million ad campaign to target senators in 13 states where gun control appears to have majority support among the citizens.

But in doing so, Bloomberg dropped a bombshell that only proves what conservatives and libertarians have been saying for years about progressives, liberals, and collectivists. The mayor declared, "I do think there are certain times we should infringe on your freedom."

Progressives hail such sentiments due to the inherent philosophy therein that supports the notion that government should be the central focus of all of the power in a society, planning, managing, and controlling human behavior down to the most minute detail.

County sheriffs form line of defense against federal overreach

In the days and weeks after certain state legislatures, Congressional Democrats, and Barack Obama announced sweeping new gun control proposals, a backlash began at the grassroots level not only among citizens but among law enforcement officials who form that last line of defense against federal overreach -- the county sheriffs.

One by one the sheriffs in Oregon, Kentucky, Colorado, Arizona, Utah, and many other states came forward to announce they would not enforce any new law that infringes on the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, or any other Constitutional provision.

Not only did individual sheriffs assert their clearly-designated authority as the only law enforcement officials who are elected by the people within their jurisdictions but so did some of the major county sheriffs associations in the country. The Utah Sheriffs Association, for example, wrote a strongly worded letter to Obama declaring they would not allow any federal official to strip their constituents of their Constitutional rights...

Danger ahead: Colorado leftwing coup a blueprint for America

When the gun control debate began in the Colorado legislature nearly two months ago, many residents in the state were left scratching their heads, wondering how their state fell into the hands of leftwing extremists who not only disregard gun rights but encourage one another to ignore the protests, emails, phone calls, and letters from constituents.

"What on earth has happened to my state?" one Colorado resident asked in despair.

It turns out that what happened in Colorado was not a spontaneous reaction to criminal violence but the consequence of a longterm, planned strategy among Democratic operatives to oust conservatives from office and replace them with leftwing extremists.

Reid moves forward background check vote

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., announced Thursday that a bill to require universal background checks on all private gun sales, citizen to citizen, has moved forward out of committee and will be brought to the floor for a vote possibly as soon as two weeks from now.

The bill will require all sales and transfers of guns by private citizens, including firearms handed down as part of family inheritance, be accompanying by a federal background check as one of the terms of sale or transfer.

All guns and politics from the best gun rights and liberty bloggers on the Internet.

WRSA announces that you have a chance to have dinner with Gun Owners of America Director Larry Pratt and author Matt Bracken at a major upcoming event. Take a look for details.

David Codrea notes that a Star Trek actor bemoans the failure of Congress to pass an "assault weapons" ban.

Kurt Hofmann declares that the gun ban nutcases must decide if they're willing to kill 50 million+ citizens for their cause. Must-reading!

Mike Vanderboegh comments on the outrageous news that a mother in N.J. got a visit from police over a photo of her child who is thoroughly trained in handling firearms.

Way Up North reports the bombshell breaking news that N.Y. Gov. Cuomo is having second thoughts about the gun control laws he and the Democrats pushed through the legislature.

Tam provides a quotable quote on President Calvin Coolidge. I mention this because I am a big fan of Coolidge as well. Did you know, for example, that by cutting government spending to the bone and lowering taxes for all, he was able to stop a Great Depression (which we rarely hear about since it didn't last long) within 2 years? 2 years. And all that spending and taxing by crook FDR NEVER  stopped THE Great Depression of the 1930s. It took WWII to do that.

Brigid posts thorough info on the newly redesigned Ruger Vaquero revolver, or what I have always referred to as a "cowboy gun."

Nicki says that once again Joe Biden has stuck his foot in his mouth. How many of these wild misstatements is it going to take before he is declared certifiably insane?

Days of our Trailers asks, "What law would have stopped THIS?"

Pamela Geller calls our attention to yet another outrage at DHS. It seems the Leviathan ignoramuses in the agency have cleared Jihadist nations for their "trusted traveler" program. ROFL!! That is an incredulous laugh. It would be funny if it were not so overwhelmingly enraging. First thing you know DHS will declare Iran's Ahmadinejad as the "man of the year."

Gun owners to hit Colorado in pocket book

The pressure is building on Colorado in the wake of its news laws that infringe on the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Gun owners across the country now say that they will hit the state in the pocket book, punishing Colorado economically for essentially kicking gun owners in the teeth.

Magpul, a magazine manufacturing company located in Colorado, has already announced it will be leaving the state, taking hundreds of jobs with it, and creating a hole in Colorado's economy to the tune of $85 million dollars this year alone.

But this action is far from the worst of what Colorado faces as a consequence of its new law that bans magazines and guns that carry over 15 rounds, eight rounds if it is a shotgun, and mandates background checks on private, citizen-to-citizen gun sales and transfers...

Colorado worth fighting for in gun control debacle

In a ceremony affirming his approval of some of the most sweeping gun control laws in the nation so far, Gov. John Hickenlooper, D-Colo., placed his signature on a bill passed by the Democrat-controlled state legislature that limits magazine capacity to 15 rounds and requires that all private citizen-to-citizen gun sales, both in person and online, be subject to background checks.

The bill also bans all rifles and shotguns that have fixed magazines that exceed the legal limit. Shotguns cannot have magazines that allow more than 8 shots to be fired.

Democrats hailed the new laws that they managed to shove through the legislature in a state that traditionally has been a stronghold of individual rights, self-reliance, and gun rights.

Republicans, however, warned...

Social media blitz to demand answers on DHS armored vehicles

The Examiner has learned that concerned citizens are mounting a social media blitz in order to demand answers from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) concerning its procurement of 1.2 billion rounds of hollow point ammunition, its purchase of automatic and semiautomatic weapons, and its deployment of armored landmine-proof vehicles on U.S. soil.

Answers from DHS have been few and far between, and woefully inadequate.

For example, DHS posted a message on its website last week that the vehicles are being used to deliver "high risk" warrants to citizens it deems to be dangerous.

But that explanation still does not address the issue of the need for a fleet of landmine-proof vehicles on U.S. soil...

March for liberty: California citizens fight back

Appalled by the attempt of federal and state governments to withdraw the protections of certain unalienable rights guaranteed in the Constitution, a group of California citizens is fighting back by organizing a series of marches throughout the state that call attention to the government tyranny.

Roger Cotton, organizer of the events, stated that he was motivated to do something major when he was listening to the radio one day recently and heard law enforcement officers from California and Chicago talk about their views on the Second Amendment.

Although many county sheriffs across the nation have vowed to refuse to enforce any new gun legislation emanating from the White House and Congress, others have indicated their full support for draconian new gun control even to the point of repealing the Second Amendment altogether. And in addition to law enforcement, mayors, state legislators, and members of Congress chimed in, heaping on their disdain for the right of citizens to keep and bear arms.

Reports confirm DHS using armored vehicles, military grade weapons

At the same time the Obama administration and Senate Democrats are attempting to disarm the American people with restrictive gun and ammunition laws, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is arming itself to the hilt with military grade weapons and ammo, and armored vehicles that can withstand landmines.

A well-placed source with significant knowledge of government operations at the Pentagon, the State Department, and DHS, and who shall remain anonymous for obvious reasons, confirmed to the Examiner Saturday evening that the armored vehicles had been spotted all across America, particularly in Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky, Texas, California, and other states...

Conn. senator, Andrea Mitchell, lie about gun ban bill on MSNBC

U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., was caught in a barefaced lie about the Feinstein gun ban bill in an interview with Andrea Mitchell on MSNBC. Mitchell helped Murphy perpetuate the lie by failing to correct the falsehoods. A true journalist would have challenged the senator on his wildly erroneous statements.

Mitchell, who has built up a well-known, verifiable reputation as a lackey for the Obama administration and other extremist leftwing politicians, had played an excerpt Thursday of the heated exchange between U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., and U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, in the Senate over constitutional rights and Feinstein's sweeping, draconian gun ban bill. She then brought on Sen. Murphy to claim that Cruz is wrong and Feinstein is right about the Constitution and the Second Amendment.

But Murphy and Mitchell were caught, red-handed, in a series of barefaced lies about the bill...

The 2A News Roundup--Top 10 for Friday, March 15, 2013

All guns and politics from the best gun rights and liberty bloggers on the Internet.

Kurt Hofmann reports the explosive news that yet another politician says that magazine bans are useless without confiscation. Don't let these lying scumbags fool you. They claim they don't want to confiscate your guns or magazines. They are LYING.

Mike Vanderboegh says that the gun and ammo shortage is about to force gun dealers out of business due to lack of cash flow. Wouldn't the Obamanoids and liberal Democrat vermin just love that! Further, Mike says Obama has given orders to his minions to use Facebook to push "universal background checks." He provides a way to counter it.

Tam has more on the shortages in Indiana.

David Codrea issues yet another warning about California in the midst of its aggressive pursuit of gun owners. Look what they are saying NOW. You know, folks, decent people should not live in California. They would be much happier elsewhere. Personally, I would not live in ANY state that elects people like Feinstein, Boxer, and Pelosi to office. Raving lunatics vote like that.

WRSA says it's dying time. Follow the link. Read it all. The you-know-what is about to hit the fan. I do believe it. We are way past "the eleventh hour." It is 30 seconds to midnight. That's how long we have before this nation plunges into civil war.

The Twisters post a piece that asks, "How long has this been going on?" And the answer is, "Much longer than you think!" Take a look.

Standing By keeps up the pressure on Dianne Feinstein, which was started by the grilling conducted by Sen. Ted Cruz, and which exposed her unfitness for public office. And yes, Sen. Feinstein, you ARE dumber than a sixth grader!

From Way Up North: "What is a Constitutional Republic, and Why Does it Matter?"

John Jacob H exposes a professor whom he calls a "RINO Fudd" and proceeds to unleash some much needed verbal thrashing of the good doctor.

Ha! I just love it, I tell you, I love it when free speech killing vermin under the guise of "conservatism" get a kick to the groin. Pamela Geller reports that Breitbart News found a way to have a forum at CPAC that addresses the issues that would have been discussed had Pamela and Robert Spencer not been BANNED from the conference. But even this doesn't let CPAC off the hook. This Breitbart forum is separate from the main meeting. And CPAC continues to cater to extremist Muslim vermin who openly call for the slaughter of Jews.

Feinstein's views on Constitution horrific

In a heated exchange between U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., and U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, the ultra-liberal California senator disclosed that she "respects" the U.S. Constitution but refused to say whether or not the document is the ultimate law of the land in America.

Feinstein's statement came in response to sharp questioning by Sen. Cruz, who was nonplussed over Feinstein's apparent lack of regard for the Second Amendment, which clearly states that "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

Gov't plays fast and loose with term 'mentally ill'

When Fidel Castro bullied his way into power in Cuba five decades ago, the west began to see, up close and personal, the manner in which totalitarian governments played fast and loose with the term "mentally ill." Political dissidents were routinely rounded up, and if they were not murdered in cold blood, they were deemed insane, taken to state-run mental facilities, and given a series of electric shock treatments that rendered them imbeciles for all intents and purposes.

In like manner, the American government under Barack Obama and Democrats who run the U.S. Senate, and their allies in ultra-liberal state governments such California, are using the term "mentally ill" in a haphazard fashion, allowing them to confiscate guns.

Government scourge of gun owners begins

Citizens and some media outlets are reporting that the government scourge of gun owners, which gun rights activists have warned about, has begun.

In the state of California there have been widespread reports of illegal searches and seizures of firearms based upon nothing more than the fact that family members of gun owners have received psychiatric treatment.

In the days after the Newtown shootings in Connecticut, the president of the United States, Democrats in Congress and their elitist Republican enablers, and state and local governments indicated their intention to pass stringent gun control laws...

Colorado Democrats appear determined to start a civil war

Despite numerous, heated protests around the state over the past three months, Colorado Democrats, who control the state legislature, appear determined to start a civil war by approving a series of unprecedented and severely restrictive gun control measures.

In a related development, Democrats in the U.S. Senate in Washington stated today that they are pressing to move forward on some highly restrictive federal gun control bills that have been met with heavy opposition by citizens throughout America and Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Gun rights activists have vowed civil disobedience to any new law that infringes on the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which states unequivocally that "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

Such civil disobedience could lead to chaos in the streets and even a civil war as citizens who believe in the original intent of the Constitution vow to resist any effort to curb their gun rights, even if it means giving their very lives for the cause.

John Jacob H posts a must-see from 1961 -- a TV ad that shows a young boy demonstrating excellent trigger action. If that were shown today, the libs would nuke TV stations over it.

CLO gives the newspaper columnists and editors some of their own medicine regarding the publishing of the names and addresses of gun owners.

Pamela Geller reports the latest news on her being banned from CPAC this year, along with the great Robert Spencer. Even Chris Matthews commented on it. But let's face it, CPAC has increasingly become nothing more than a RINO farce that supports extremist Muslims.

GOP leadership hints snub of House Republicans to support gun control

The GOP leadership establishment in the U.S. House of Representatives has hinted it may snub the rank and file Republican members of the House by stating they may seek to pass gun control measures without a majority of support from House Republicans.

The stunning announcement came from House Majority Whip, U.S. Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., who told CNN on Sunday, according to The Hill, that House Speaker John Boehner wants a major gun control bill to receive bipartisan approval even if it means the majority of House Republicans oppose it.

Such a bill would be fairly easy to pass even if only a minority of Republicans support it, as long as an overwhelming majority of Democrats vote in favor of the measure.

Democrats, RINOS face serious voter backlash

If there were ever any doubt that the electorate as a whole is in an increasingly defiant mood, such doubts should be quickly dispelled by the continued unprecedented, historic, and explosive record sales of guns, ammunition, and firearms accessories.

Democrats and RINOS (Republicans in Name Only) are in a particularly vulnerable position not only due to the gargantuan mistake of overreach on the issue of drone-kills of American citizens on U.S. soil but the overt rejection of the swelling current of pro-gun sentiments on the part of the American public.

Even after the massacres at the movie theater in Denver and the elementary school in Newtown, Conn., Americans are smart enough to see...

Rand Paul energizes conservative movement

Traditionally in American politics very little separated conservatives from libertarians. Both stood for small government and low taxes. Both stood for creating a strong environment for business. Both believed that government should get out of the lives and business activities of citizens so that creativity and productivity could flourish.

The only difference between the two was in the area of foreign policy, and even then the differences were minimal as conservatives made it clear that war should be rare and if the nation goes to war it should be done by an official declaration from Congress, and, it should be fought to win outright, no holds barred.

The Bush era tended to widen the gap between conservatives and libertarians, however...

Pay no attention to the ads for Goober Lindsey

I see that Lindsey Graham has kicked his campaign into high gear now as he faces reelection in 2014. His ads are all over the place, on Google, including Blogspot, which is a Google platform, and the Examiner for which I write.

As for this blog, it is never to be assumed that I endorse anything advertised here unless I specifically say so. Google decides what goes on here. If I limit them, I make less money, and I am so destitute that less money literally means missing  some meals and not making a car insurance payment. Yes, it is that bad.

So, the only thing I will say is that as far as I'm concerned, Graham is a Goober. He is an idiot, a disgrace to the Senate, and an embarrassment to South Carolina. I rarely agree with him on anything except for the Benghazi debacle, and my friends, there is much MUCH more to being a U.S. senator than Benghazi.

I will NEVER vote for another Democrat as long as I live, not locally or nationally, since they are now the Socialist Party for all intents and purposes. And I am fed up to the hilt with the Republicans who lead the Party such as Goober Lindsey, John McLame, and Yellow Stains Boehner.

So, I suppose when it comes to the Senate race here in S.C., I am left with the Libertarian candidate, whatever nameless face it happens to be. I hate what this nation has become in the last decade.

US tyranny to increase for foreseeable future

A close friend who is politically astute, a Tea Party activist and Christian conservative, stated Wednesday in a private conversation that America as we know it is already lost, gone, destroyed.

And not a single shot was fired. This was done entirely through the electoral process, the courts, and a clear majority of the electorate that does not share the philosophy, the mindset, or the world-view of the Founders, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, or our nation's rich religious heritage.

An all-important threshold was crossed, quite imperceptibly and thus totally without notice, that brought the nation into what the Founders referred to as "the tyranny of the majority."

McCain, Graham blast Rand Paul

The snarling, obnoxious RINOS who always find a way to roast their own rather than the real enemies on the other side of the aisle have struck again. John McCain, R-Ariz, and Lindsey Graham, R-S.C. blasted Rand Paul, R-Ky. for his 12 hour filibuster in the U.S. Senate Wednesday.

Sen. Paul filibustered Obama nominee John Brennan for CIA Director. The issue was the administration's drone program, which Attorney General Eric Holder claims gives the president the authority to kill Americans on U.S. soil without any due process of law whatsoever. Paul had help from only three other Republicans -- Ted Cruz, R-Texas, Mike Lee, R-Utah, and John Barrasso, R-Wyo.

Graham's response? The president needs the authority to kill Americans in cold blood on U.S. soil because "they may have been recruited by al Qaeda."

Drone plan reveals broader objective to kill Americans

The Obama administration's drone plan, which implements the use of predator drones to target and kill suspected terrorists overseas, took an ominous turn Tuesday when Attorney General Eric Holder stated that not only does the administration plan to use drones to kill suspected American terrorists on U.S. soil but that such a plan is entirely legal, even without due process of law.

Many conservatives and government watchdog groups have warned since the beginning of the plan that such a course of action is illegal, unconstitutional, and places the current administration in the role of a tyrannical government.

But Tuesday's announcement by Holder drew the most vociferous protests to date.

Day of reckoning for America is near

Everything points to a dreaded "day of reckoning" for America that many observers say is much closer than anyone realizes. That day only approaches more quickly, with lightening speed, each time the politicians unleash on the citizens their arrogance concerning the unalienable rights, particularly the gun rights, of citizens.

In Colorado, for example, where the Democrat controlled state legislature has proposed a sweeping gun ban bill that would strip citizens of the right to self defense and take the standard hunting shotgun out of the hands of hunters, a state legislator berated a rape survivor for claiming her chances for survival would have increased significantly if she had possessed a gun.

How far should we go to defend the Constitution?

How far should we go to defend the Constitution and the Bill of Rights that are designed to protect citizens from oppressive, tyrannical government? According to one thoughtful citizen, as far as it takes using any means necessary....

...Had it not been that the patriots in 1776 believed and practiced that all citizens have the right to defend themselves against tyranny with deadly firearms, then there would have been no new nation, no Constitution, no Bill of Rights, and no free society.

The patriots successfully broke away from Great Britain precisely because the citizens had firearms that were every bit as deadly as that possessed and used by the British army.

But what if such tyranny creeps back into the halls of government, not necessarily by an outside government but our own? The patriots had an answer for that too...

Good laws never result from mass hysteria

One of the pitfalls of living in what many call a "democracy," which according to our Founders is an erroneous way to describe our form of government, is the tendency of opportunists to use the mass hysteria among the populace to garner support for bad laws.

The case of the Salem Witch Trials is a perfect example of such hysteria. Some of the more astute minds of the period were so caught up in the hysteria stemming from the claims of a few silly school girls that a number of admirable, upstanding members of the community were sentenced to death.

Contrary to the notion that society has advanced far beyond such primitive thinking, modern 21st century societies have their own versions of mass hysteria that are rarely based on logical thinking but on knee-jerk reactions to frightening events.

Gun hysteria is case in point...

The healthcare problem no one wants to discuss

Contrary to the meme promulgated by the Obama administration and Democrats in Congress, healthcare costs will not decrease due to the implementation of what is known as Obamacare. Rather, the program will do the exact thing that its proponents claim it was supposed to prevent.

Healthcare costs will skyrocket under Obamacare.

A preliminary report issued in February indicated that under the new Obamacare law a health insurance policy for a family of four will cost a whopping $20,000 per year.

Thus, the core motivation for implementing the healthcare law, if one listens to the politicians, was a false one....

The bill would also ban magazines that hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition.

The Democrat-controlled Senate apparently made sure that the room where the hearing was held was packed with supporters of the gun ban. Attendees cheered witnesses who testified in favor of the ban, particularly when they clashed with Republicans on the committee.

Feinstein gun ban to be heard by committee tomorrow

The Feinstein gun ban bill, commonly known for the person who introduced the bill to the Senate, U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., will be considered by the Senate Judiciary Committee tomorrow at 10 a.m. EST.

Conservative groups have contacted their members and constituents to urge them contact the senators on the committee, especially those who are up for reelection in 2014, to urge them to take no action on the proposal, effectively allowing the bill to die in committee.

News outlet uses pro-gun rally to promote anti-gun rally

Excerpt...

"WSPA reported on the National Day of Resistance Saturday evening in its 11 p.m. news broadcast. But in doing so it spent as much if not more time talking about an anti-gun rally that is scheduled for the following week than reporting on the pro-gun event itself. The organizer for the anti-gun rally was given an extensive interview.

"One is led to wonder why such obvious bias is incorporated into a news segment about pro-gun activists, particularly in a state where firearms rights are valued. Not only that, but one wonders why an avid anti-gun group would be given such free publicity in a news segment that was supposed to be about a pro-gun rally."

Such thinking, however, cannot be verified by the historical record.

How do we know that this is the case? How can we be certain that the Framers did not wish to impose cumbersome national gun restrictions and controls on the firearms rights of the citizens?

The text itself, understood within its historical context and the philosophy and written explanations of the Framers themselves, provides the answers.
