The gun sales boom that began last October shows no signs of slowing down. Gun sales are still way up over last year.

What's driving the continued push by Americans to buy up all the firearms they can?

And this is my topic of discussion today at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

Give it a read and tell a friend?

LEFTWING NUTS MALIGN TEA PARTY PARTICIPANTS

The Leftwing loons are at it again prior to the July 4 Tea Party gatherings around the nation. As they did before, these Libtards are maligning Tea Party participants, this time even going as far as calling them 'unpatriotic.'

Texas Fred has been on the receiving end of the malicious attacks, and he files this story.

'Big Lib' Media Cover-Up on Obama Healthcare

In an address before the American Medical Association yesterday, Barack Obama said the following concerning single-payer, state-run healthcare--'I'll be honest, there are countries where a single-payer system works pretty well.'

The problem is, not a single major big liberal news outlet quoted Obama on that statement.

It was simply removed from the record as if it were never uttered.

But CNS News retained it, published it, and scolded the 'big lib' media for attempting a cover-up of Obama's real feelings about healthcare and how it should be handled.

ABC RESPONDS. But I Smell a Rat

ABC News issued a response to GOP outrage over the new ABC News-Barack Obama coup. Read it HERE.

Pay close attention to the subtle wording. ABC contends Americans have already heard opposing opinions on Obamacare.

It is clear they are using this dubious argument to justify their infomercials for Obama!

NEWS MEDIA COUP! ALL BARACK CHANNEL

ABC News and the White House are now one. The 'All Barack Channel.' ABC will use its news division to bombard the public with free infomercial type news reports aimed at gaining support for Obamacare.

There you will find the facts from a variety of sources that indicate Obama's plan will not only raise taxes for most Americans but totally destroy our private healthcare system.

Muslim Detractor Gives Obama Slam-Dunk!

Wafa Sultan, who was raised in an environment of extremist Islam but now speaks against it, has written a MUST-read that issues a slam-dunk to Barack Obama.

Her words are both an inspiration and a powerful reminder that people who live under oppression can emerge strong, articulate, and very brave.

Read it all here.

22nd Anniversary of Reagan's Berlin Wall Speech

This is absolutely, positively one of the top 10 speeches ever given by a U.S. President--maybe even in the top 5.

On this day when we commemorate a speech that actually helped to change history, take a look at a real American patriot in action--the late, great Ronald Wilson Reagan.

Click here to see speech at Flopping Aces.

He Can Start by 'Bulldozing' D.C.

BHO stated that he wants to 'bulldoze' U.S. cities that are in a state of decline.

I have a suggestion that is as perfectly 'rational' as his statement--he can start by bulldozing D.C.!

Of course, my sarcasm is an entry point into a much deeper discussion about the Obama philosophy, based upon his mentor, Saul Alinsky. You can read all about it, if you care to, at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

Will Netanyahu Crack Under Obama Pressure?

The intense and underhanded pressure from the Obama Administration may be leading Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to consider a '2-state solution' to Middle East tensions.

Read why this would be an absolutely terrible course of action for the Israelis, at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

Obama is actually setting up Netanyahu to fail no matter what choice he makes--a most despicable policy, given that our charlatan-in-chief told the Muslim world that the U.S. has no right to 'impose its values' on any other nation.

So, why is he doing that very thing with Israel?

Second Amendment News Roundup for 6/12/09

Thanks for stopping by, however. Be sure to read my latest column at the Examiner, though, at the link provided in the post following this one. I appreciate you all.

Perspective on the Growing Outrage in America

An ill wind is blowing across America. Citizen outrage is brewing just below the surface, one symptom of which is the violent acts of loonies, such as the one who went on a shooting spree yesterday at the Holocaust Museum.

But this growing movement is not violent.

Read all about it in my latest column at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

You'll be glad you did.

In a stunning refusal to hear the case of secured investors who were given the shaft by the Obama Administration in the Chrysler deal, the U.S. Supreme Court in essence ignored the Constitution.

Read all about it at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

Today we will examine the subject, 'When the Courts Fail to Uphold the Constitution.'

Now It's Knife Rights That Are Under Attack

I received this communique last evening from Knife Rights concerning the latest example of government encroachment on citizen rights:

This is not a spam message. We need your help.

Below is a link for a page on kniferights.org. It gives model letters "SEND ONE" and info on what's going on. If you're not already aware, this has already happened in Europe, Australia and England, but that's another item.

The synopsis: U.S. Customs / Border Patrol have proposed revoking earlier rulings that assisted opening knives are not switchblades. The proposal would not only outlaw assisted opening knives, its overly broad new definition of a switchblade, would also include all one-handed opening knives.

Yes, that's right -- ALL pocketknives that you can open with one hand, period. Don't think it's not real, it's been ongoing, just not well known.

IMPORTANT: There is a 30-day window, which ENDS JUNE 30TH in which an extension must be obtained, so that the movement itself can be squashed for another few years.

Take a few minutes, spread this info to everyone you know, and then create a letter and actually send it.

The below link will provide you with full details of the story.
http://www.kniferights.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=76&Itemid=150

If the link doesn't work, simply visit kniferights.org and view the story there.

You also need to support and or view the story on the AKTI.ORG site. They help keep knives in your pocket. All major knife manufacturers have dealings with and or are members of the AKTI.

The A merican K nife and T ool I nstitute is what the NRA is for guns.

In closing, you know, I have never abused your email information and have a strict email content policy. I only write about items found on the Unique Blade, Inc. website, but I strongly believed you would want me to let you know, about an issue, as serious as this one, hence the reason for this email. I am in NOT being paid or receiving any special benefits by mentioning the site's above and for that matter they have no idea that I am.

Please believe the story and write the letter. WE MUST STAND TOGETHER AND BE LOUD! Our knife rights are on the line. DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF IGNORING THE ISSUE. Do something and you better do it now.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT.

This is a government attack on the right to self-defense. Give these good folk some help if you can, but mainly, spread the word.

Terrorist Link to Doomed Airliner Revealed

Sky News is reporting this morning that the doomed Air France flight that broke apart in the sky above the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Brazil was carrying 2 passengers that are linked to extremist Muslim terrorism.

A source working for the French security services told Paris weekly L'Express that the link was "highly significant".

Agents are now trying to establish dates of birth for the two dead passengers, and family connections.

There is a possibility the name similarities are simply a "macabre coincidence", the source added, but the revelation is still being "taken very seriously".

France has received numerous threats from Islamic terrorist groups in recent months, especially since French troops were sent to fight in Afghanistan.

Every Blade of Grass took his Kimber 22 LR conversion kit to the range on Sunday. Here is a report.

Free in Idaho posts a story that involves a drug addict, a bag of meth, and a hardware store.

'Dutch' gave quite a few memorable speeches while President, and John Jacob H has a video of one his most moving. This is President Ronald Reagan's famous speech on the 40th anniversary of D-Day, entitled, 'The Boys of Pointe du Hoc.' Our nation's young need to be taught what a President should be, and parents would do well to show them Reagan's speeches. They won't get this in the nation's public school system, that looks upon Reagan with curious disdain.

Meeting on the Green provides Part 6 of Thomas Paine's 'Common Sense.' Scroll for links to the other segments.

Conservative Libertarian Outpost comments on the sorry state of the economy and the terribly wrong-headed plan of the Administration to 'fix' it.

The Rustmeister says that Obama is 'still not getting it.' He's 100% correct. Let's hope that's what it is. If he does, indeed, 'get it,' and is doing all this stuff anyway, then that means we are dealing with the very face of evil.

Dustin's Gun Blog has more on the gun bill in Arizona.

Ride Fast and Shoot Straight blogs on a dirty rotten scoundrel of a Mayor that wants a complete ban on gun ownership and possession.

Traction Control informs us of a neat website just for gun owners. Take a look!

Days of Our Trailers notes that gun activists are organizing to elect pro-Second Amendment candidates to office.

Texas Fred uses the Qur'an itself to show that Islam is NOT 'the religion of peace.'

Tam posts a little exchange she had with a gun store clerk concerning some ammo.

Sebastian has an interesting post concerning the growing tendency of female business owners to proactively step up to the plate in self-defense using firearms.

JR has been biting the bullet on the Medifast diet. Dang, man, 900 calories per day???

Time to Stop Obama From Ruining U.S. Healthcare

We still have time to put a stop to Obama's healthcare 'reform' plan, which will have the effect of ruining the most advanced healthcare system on earth and plunging the nation into deeper economic chaos due to the multi-billions of extra debt the plan will create.

This article at the Heritage Foundation, via Canada Free Press, provides all the information we need to effectively stop this monstrosity in its tracks.

CHINA HINTS AT BYPASSING U.S. ECONOMY

Senior Chinese leaders have privately voiced fear over the soaring US budget deficit and are increasingly looking to diversify from the dollar, a Republican congressman said.

"We heard across the board -- in private -- substantial, continuing and rising concern," Representative Mark Kirk said after a trip to China that included talks with government officials and central bank chief Zhou Xiaochuan.

"It's clear that China would like to diversify from its dollar investments," the lawmaker said at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a Washington think-tank.

Apparently the Obama debt load is frightening to the Chinese, who hold the key to our economic recovery. Read the whole thing at Breitbart.

Second Amendment News Roundup for 6/8/09

Focusing on guns, politics, and news of interest, here is today's Second Amendment News Roundup:

Today we will do something a bit different here at the Roundup--the top 10 most popular gun and liberty blogs here at The Liberty Sphere. Just for today, we will publish posts from the 10 most popular blogs (at least here at the Liberty Sphere) as a means of highlighting their good work.

This in no way means the others are not excellent blogs or that they do not have a following. They do. But today we emphasize the most popular here, in no particular order.

Tam muses on the impending economic disaster in California in a post entitled, 'If You Listen to Fools, the Mob Rules.'

Say Uncle has an excellent read on why, as a gun blogger, he blogs with a pseudonym. I did that for a long time as well. But things changed. I still support those who wish to remain anonymous, however, for the reasons cited by Uncle.

David Codrea has 2 excellent posts, one at Gun Rights Examiner and the other on his blog at The War on Guns.

Western Rifle Shooters Association opines on the possibility of a British revolution. The events over the past couple of days would make that seem like a distinct possibility.

Sipsy Street Irregulars remembers Pvt. William Long, who was gunned down by a homegrown Muslim terrorist at a military recruiting office.

Brigid provides a MUST-read in honor of her father on D-Day. Read it all.

Kurt Hofmann has been knocked out of commission of late, but here are two of his articles, one from his blog, Armed and Safe, and the other from his St. Louis Gun Rights Examiner site.

Nicki says that conservative Stephen Crowder knocked one out of the ball park! Take a look.

Sebastian has a VERY important read, entitled, 'Stop Microstamping in New York.'

JR posts a new one from the great photographer and gun artist, Oleg Volk.

Honorable mentions: Conservative Libertarian Outpost, Walls of the City, Texas Fred, Days of our Trailers.

Thanks to ALL of you who faithfully provide material of interest to the liberty-and gun-rights community. Remember, it is the quality of your work that counts, and not necessarily the stats.

Cracks in the Obama Teflon

The heavy Teflon coating provided to Barack Obama by the mainstream media, shielding him from the negative consequences of his economic policies, is beginning to show signs of strain.

And this is my topic of discussion today at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

Read about how cracks are developing in the Teflon as some of the pro-Obama news outlets begin to openly question Obama's plan for the nation.

TURMOIL IN THE OBAMA ECONOMIC TEAM

Apparently tensions are at a fever pitch in the Obama economic team as interpersonal disputes and disagreements among personnel concerning what to do about worsening conditions are placing a strain on everyone involved.

This is according to a special report issued Sunday in The New York Times, of all places.

If Obama is losing the AP and the Times, what does this say about 'normal' America?

It would appear that some cracks have developed in the Teflon coating the mainstream media issued to Obama at the outset.

Jobless Rate Stuns Obama White House

The economic stimulus plan pushed by Barack Obama and Congressional Democrats was supposed to prevent more hemorrhaging of jobs. Yet the job losses continued in May, stunning White House officials who were caught off-guard.

According to Voice of America:

The White House says America's employment picture is worse than the Obama administration had anticipated just a few months ago. The somber admission follows the latest jobless report showing the highest unemployment rate the United States has seen in more than 25 years.

And don't get too comfortable with the mere loss of 450,000 jobs. As the summer months roll on, expect the economy to be hit with the avalanche of layoffs following plant closures by GM and Chrysler, and the industries that depend on them.

Runaway Gov't Spending Making Economy Worse

It would appear that certain sectors of the mainstream media are now beginning to sit up and take notice that the Obama plan has greatly worsened our economic crisis. Even the AP has finally admitted the truth.

A Serious Impeachable Offense--5th Amendment

When one gives careful consideration to the provisions of the 5th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, it becomes clear that Obama and company have committed impeachable offenses in the government-imposed and supervised bankruptcy terms for GM and Chrysler.

Obama has violated the provisions of the 5th Amendment in at least 2 places--the due process clause and the just compensation clause.

Read all about this new twist to the takeover of the auto industry at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

Not only were the automakers deprived of their rights under the Constitution, but they willingly allowed Obama to force these violations upon them in exchange for a taxpayer bailout...all the more reason for a boycott!

Growing Momentum of GM, Chrysler Boycott

The citizen revolt against the nationalization of private business and large corporations is beginning to express itself in support for a boycott of GM and Chrysler.

At today's Columbia Conservative Examiner, we will take a look at the growing momentum for this boycott, including a new Rasmussen Poll that indicates rising support.

Thanks for reading!

This Is Not Good

Kurt Hofmann at Armed and Safe and St. Louis Gun Rights Examiner is having computer problems that prevent him from posting.

For a writer, that is a terrible problem that hits one in the pocketbook.

Go over there and give him some moral support!

Time to Stop Buying from 'Government Motors'

Well, my dear fellow citizens, it is time for all Americans to start putting their money where their mouth is. Americans by overwhelming majorities are telling pollsters they oppose bailouts of the auto industry, as well as Wall Street and the banking sector.

Now that Obama has pulled off the ultimate bailout--the government takeover of a private corporation in addition to the billions in tax money he has given it--it is now time for us, the consumers, to boycott 'Government Motors.'

We can show our total disdain for the Obama economic plan by refusing to buy anything made by G.M. or Chrysler.

Read all about this call for American common-sense purchasing at Columbia Conservative Examiner.

Don't let Barack Obama dictate the type of vehicle you have to drive! Refuse to buy from a socialized auto company!

Texas Fred just posted a MUST-read concerning the murder of Tiller the Baby Killer. Never one to mince words, Fred lays it on the line about the late-term abortion doctor who slaughtered 60,000 in his career.

Tiller was one of only THREE abortion doctors in the entire United States who perform these types of late-term procedures. THREE.

There is a reason for that. Doctors won't do them, not even the most rabid of pro-abortion physicians.

Be sure to read Texas Fred's report and commentary.

Former Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean showed his ignorance (yet again) by saying that Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor's statements on race were 'taken out of context.'

Read all about this and other reactions from Senators in today's Columbia Conservative Examiner.

Thanks.

The Murder of Tiller the Baby Killer

The infamous abortion doctor in Kansas, 'Tiller the Baby Killer,' was murdered in cold blood at his church on Sunday.

Let me be perfectly clear about this display of deadly violence. It is to be harshly condemned.

How can a human being who is so concerned about the sanctity of human life turn around and do the very thing he/she is accusing the abortion doctors of doing?

This is nothing more than an example of twisted thinking on the part of such perpetrators. And pro-life citizens should be quick to disavow such acts. The murderer who took Tiller's life in no way represents the pro-life movement. As with all movements and institutions, the crazies make up a small percentage of those who belong to them.

Barack Obama stated he was 'outraged' at Tiller's murder. So am I. But what I want to hear from Obama is that he is just as outraged by the barbaric slaughter of innocent unborn babies

******SPECIAL LIBERTY ALERT!!*******

WHITE HOUSE MOVES TO SILENCE CRITICS OF THE STIMULUS PROGRAM! FRONTAL ATTACK ON FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS!

A new White House policy on permissible lobbying on economic recovery and stimulus project has taken a decidedly anti-First Amendment turn. It’s a classic illustration of Big Government trying to control every aspect of a particular activity and in the process running up against civil liberty.

Check out this passage from a post on the White House blog by Norm Eisen, Special Counsel to the President on Ethics and Government Reform (emphasis added):

“First, we will expand the restriction on oral communications to cover all persons, not just federally registered lobbyists. For the first time, we will reach contacts not only by registered lobbyists but also by unregistered ones, as well as anyone else exerting influence on the process. We concluded this was necessary under the unique circumstances of the stimulus program

Further,

The key passage is the reference to expanding regulation from registered lobbyists to “anyone else exerting influence on the process. We concluded this was necessary under the unique circumstances of the stimulus program.”

This is the Camel’s nose under the tent…

Note that ANYONE, not just lobbyists, who attempts to influence process will be restricted from communicating their opinion if it is against Obama's plans!
